[Merlin, get this, Merlin, get that-- grumbling just a little, Merlin stumbles into Northern Lattes, a bag of groceries tucked precariously in one arm. Coffee, he's found, has worked wonders both when it comes to his own exhaustion and Arthur's mood, so why not pick up a cup or three and and see if it placates his master this afternoon?

Besides, he's heard there's new ones. That's always interesting.

The line is short, though, so Merlin grabs for his wallet, wanting to get his money out before he's there. And he's so busy with his wallet and focusing on not dropping the bag that he doesn't see the woman exiting the store in front of him until he's already run into her.]

[ She's just finished her first sip of the latte, and-- oh. That's good. Distracted as she is by the pleasant surprise, there's really no avoiding Merlin. She just manages to avoid dumping the rest of her drink, and shoots an instinctive glare at him for the hassle.

Which... doesn't last. To her own surprise it's melting away into a smile, and hey, she recognizes this guy, doesn't she? Merlin. She'd met him as a dragon. Her smile warms a little. ]

Hello, there.

Hullo.

[A warm smile was not what he was expecting, especially not one that followed such a glare.]

Er-- are you all right? Sorry. Didn't mean to run into you.

I'm fine. [ uhhhh flood of goodwill? Well, okay. She can afford to be nice some days, that's... probably fine. ] These things happen.

[ a beat, then: ] Emrys, wasn't it?

[ The Heat Miser has run out by now, but Bruce swings by Northern Latte again anyway, simply for the fact that he needs to investigate whatever it is that had caused such an effect on him. If not for Re-l's office, his cover would've been blown, and the consequences of that is dire enough for him to be extra precaution. Especially given where he has chosen for Bruce Wayne to work.

In any case, it's his lunch break, and he's spending part of it at Northern Latte, looking at the list of drinks with his eyes narrowed, trying to figure out what they mean. Out of the corner of his eye, he spots a girl with black hair- and she seems rather familiar.

... Onyx? ]

[ She doesn't notice any watching going on until after she's had her drink (the third today-- they're too delicious to stop going back for, strange events of the day aside), and then it's only after a long, appreciative sip.

Oh. That guy. She's learned his name twice already, what had it been? Borce? No, Bruce. She smiles, a little more warmly than she might usually, and nods a greeting. ]

[ ... Now that's odd. And strangely friendly. Bruce watches her out of the corner of his eyes, and wonders if it would be too risky- probably not, given the crowds, and given her behaviour so far.

He peels himself away from the rush of people and goes up to up, looking at her up and down a little, and cocks his head. ]

Give me a second, I've almost had it- [ Chew lip chew... ]

Khisanth?

[ At first, there's no reaction past that already-in-place smile. It's her name, after all. But then the smile freezes in place, no longer quite so warm, and she stares.

There's no way. But-- it can't be a mistake. Who would ever confuse names between a human and a large black dragon? Some part of her mind doesn't mind it, though. It might even be pleased. She'd always known this man was utterly charming, who is she to care if he... unearths her biggest secret?

Despite better judgment, which is being swiftly buried by a feeling of goodwill, she steps forward with a growing smile, one hand going to rest idly at one of his forearms, head tipping invitingly to the side. ]

Mmmmhm. And Bruce Wayne. We know one another quite well, it seems.

[ It was an utter chore, but Caster had implemented Mercury into the humdrum of the city life. As long as she hoped to achieve her objective, she would have to see it through to the end. ]

[ She watched from afar, searching for anyone in need of assistance. Catching sight of a person running off with a young woman's purse when she wasn't looking, she decided that she might as well have her makeshift hero come to the rescue. ]

[ Without further ado, Mercury came dashing after the burglar, swiftly cutting off his route of escape. It didn't take long to complete the task. All it took was an unsheathed sword pointed in his direction, and the young man instantly dropped the purse and turned tail. Sweeping up the discarded item, Mercury shifted to face the owner, extending the purse to her. ]

This is yours, correct? [ A mechanized voice, as cold and lifeless as the stiff angles of his movement. ]

[ She likes few things better than when people try and target her for their petty crimes. After all, no police officer in the Port could get upset with her for taking matters into her own hands when it's something that directly concerns her, right? And there might be a little more damage than necessary done, yes, but these sorts of things happen.

So when her purse is snatched, she doesn't really look overly upset. She'd just turned, trying to decide where exactly he'd stop dashing, and where she ought to teleport to catch up with him-- when suddenly it doesn't actually matter anymore.

She blinks, staring up at her... sort of odd-looking savior. ]

...Yes, it is. [ She can't help the beginnings of a displeased frown, and reaches to snatch it away from him. ] Quite the hero, aren't you?

WELL I'm pretty bad at juggling a 'second' account here, so no worries~ ♥ merely_a_doll December 24 2011, 22:10:49 UTC
[ Mercury pauses -- or, rather, it seems like he does with his expressional face covered in silver. On Caster's end, she's nearly on the verge of chuckling. ]

Do you see me that way? [ Although mechanized, there's a distinct trace of curiosity. ]

Of course.

[ She cocks a brow, almost challengingly, and stares steadily at that smooth silver face. ]

That is, unless you're expecting a reward. I suppose that would make you less of a hero, and more of an opportunist.
