Besides, he's heard there's new ones. That's always interesting.
The line is short, though, so Merlin grabs for his wallet, wanting to get his money out before he's there. And he's so busy with his wallet and focusing on not dropping the bag that he doesn't see the woman exiting the store in front of him until he's already run into her.]

Which... doesn't last. To her own surprise it's melting away into a smile, and hey, she recognizes this guy, doesn't she? Merlin. She'd met him as a dragon. Her smile warms a little. ]
Hello, there.

[A warm smile was not what he was expecting, especially not one that followed such a glare.]
Er-- are you all right? Sorry. Didn't mean to run into you.

[ a beat, then: ] Emrys, wasn't it?

In any case, it's his lunch break, and he's spending part of it at Northern Latte, looking at the list of drinks with his eyes narrowed, trying to figure out what they mean. Out of the corner of his eye, he spots a girl with black hair- and she seems rather familiar.
... Onyx? ]

Oh. That guy. She's learned his name twice already, what had it been? Borce? No, Bruce. She smiles, a little more warmly than she might usually, and nods a greeting. ]

He peels himself away from the rush of people and goes up to up, looking at her up and down a little, and cocks his head. ]
Give me a second, I've almost had it- [ Chew lip chew... ]
Khisanth?

There's no way. But-- it can't be a mistake. Who would ever confuse names between a human and a large black dragon? Some part of her mind doesn't mind it, though. It might even be pleased. She'd always known this man was utterly charming, who is she to care if he... unearths her biggest secret?
Despite better judgment, which is being swiftly buried by a feeling of goodwill, she steps forward with a growing smile, one hand going to rest idly at one of his forearms, head tipping invitingly to the side. ]
Mmmmhm. And Bruce Wayne. We know one another quite well, it seems.

[ She watched from afar, searching for anyone in need of assistance. Catching sight of a person running off with a young woman's purse when she wasn't looking, she decided that she might as well have her makeshift hero come to the rescue. ]
[ Without further ado, Mercury came dashing after the burglar, swiftly cutting off his route of escape. It didn't take long to complete the task. All it took was an unsheathed sword pointed in his direction, and the young man instantly dropped the purse and turned tail. Sweeping up the discarded item, Mercury shifted to face the owner, extending the purse to her. ]
This is yours, correct? [ A mechanized voice, as cold and lifeless as the stiff angles of his movement. ]

So when her purse is snatched, she doesn't really look overly upset. She'd just turned, trying to decide where exactly he'd stop dashing, and where she ought to teleport to catch up with him-- when suddenly it doesn't actually matter anymore.
She blinks, staring up at her... sort of odd-looking savior. ]
...Yes, it is. [ She can't help the beginnings of a displeased frown, and reaches to snatch it away from him. ] Quite the hero, aren't you?

Do you see me that way? [ Although mechanized, there's a distinct trace of curiosity. ]

[ She cocks a brow, almost challengingly, and stares steadily at that smooth silver face. ]
That is, unless you're expecting a reward. I suppose that would make you less of a hero, and more of an opportunist.
