[ John had been hoping to make some headway on writing out his and Sherlock's latest case after the consulting detective in question slipped out earlier, until his conversation with Spike put a dent into that plan. he was probably mental for even agreeing to this, but it wasn't everyday someone came forward claiming to be undead and so nonchalantly too.

Blackheath skittered to the door when he heard Spike outside and John obliged to his griping with some of his own. ] All right, just hang on! [ he worked open the door, putting one leg out to prevent the excitable puppy from darting outside. ]

Well? You gonna invite me in? [He looked down at the dog briefly before fixing John with an expectant look instead.]

[ it was a shame bad John didn't know about the whole vampire etiquette yet, because he fixed Spike with an odd look at that question and opened the door a bit wider. ]
