And then there's Jack, a whirlwind of gold hair and bright smiles, half-stumbling out of the shop with a pensive frown on his face.

"Ah - "

He blinks at her, before lifting a hand to rub at the back of his neck, under the fall of blond hair.

"Hello, milady."

It may have lasted only for an instance, but Caster caught the pensive frown that formed on the blonde’s lips as he bumbled his way out of the shop. While the change in expression could have been for a great, many things, the hour of the day and recent circumstances made the prospect of his being Nightray Gilbert’s friend that much higher. Either way, it was the emergence of her corresponding actor, and with his greeting, the curtains had rose.

"Oh, hello," she returned in kind, a hand delicately pressing against her chest as if seized a little off guard or feeling a little disquieted. "This might sound sudden, but would you happen to be acquainted with Mr. Gilbert Nightray?"

There was no pressure in her level gaze or even the simplest tension in her cultivated speech. Yet, this man's answer would be the deciding factor in determining just how long he would last in the limelight.

Jack looked up, looking confused, but he's immediately on guard. He'd found out that he actually liked this grown-up version of Gilbert after spending nearly a year and a half in his company, and, well.

"Ah, yes, yes I am," he replies, politely, shifting to stand in front of her and tilting his head curiously, like one would in a conversation about the weather. "Jack Vessalius. I'm a friend."

Cynicism constituted a good half of Caster’s nature, but even though anyone could readily slip in a lie, she recalled the blonde’s face over the network at that very moment. He was one of many whom replied to Ritsuka Aoyagi, with sufficient concern to plant him squarely into the category of Mr. Nightray’s companion.

"Oh, good," she breathed with clear relief, mirrored in the smile that lit her lips as her hand fell back to her side. "I heard that someone important to Mr. Nightray disappeared and now he isn't feeling quite up to par, you see. I prepared something that I thought might cheer him up, but since we don't really know each other, I was searching for someone that does. In case my gift turned out to be thoughtless, I didn't want to risk making things worse, but only a friend would know what would lift his spirits. Would it be too much trouble if I asked you to come and see it?"
