Near the train at night? petalsofdeath November 13 2011, 17:26:05 UTC
Marluxia was on the hunt tonight, because sometimes, staying at home with your roommate and your cat isn't enough to pass the time, and the clubs have lost their allure. He wanted to kill, anyway. In his subordinate position, he needed to take out his frustrations on something, every once and awhile. It wasn't nearly as satisfying as hunting and killing sentient prey, watching the light die from their eyes, but killing whatever miscarriage the Core spat out would have to do ( ... )

Amy was actually just on her way back to the apartments. There was a shift later that she offered to take; she was feeling generous today. While she waited for the next train, she had her phone out in her hand, browsing through the network and sending the occasional text. She didn't even realize somebody might be watching her. That's probably why she visibly jumped when Marluxia was suddenly beside her.

Relaxing, she slipped her phone into her back pocket and flashed a slightly embarrassed smile. "Oh, hey. Yeah, been a while. How've you been?"

Marluxia smiled in apology at making her flinch. "I have been all right, I suppose. The change in the weather tends to take away my energy, but is that not true of us all?

That being said, he was not looking forward to a harsh Canadian winter. It would make for poor everything, including hunting.

He folded his arms behind his back, at ease.

"Were you on your way home? Perhaps you would like to come by and have some dinner with me?"

In reality, Marluxia was not a very good cook. Two years since he had left the Organization and had to worry about those sort of things, and he had only mastered cooking rice and ramen noodles. Everything else was just sort of... there. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't something one was normally eager to share. He did have some wine, at least. That tended to make the food taste better.

"I'm a bit used to it," she laughed, tugging at the end of her red scarf. Amy experienced enough winters in Scotland and England to be able to handle Canada. But some warmer weather would definitely be welcomed; she's still waiting on Rio to happen.

Then she lifted her eyebrows and widened her eyes, a little thrown by the question. She wasn't aware he was ... interested. Unless it was all in a strictly friendly manner -- she was engaged after all (not that it stopped anyone from asking). Maybe no one realized. She didn't have her ring with her when she arrived.

"Ehm, sort of. I have a shift at the baseball diamond." And Amy wasn't the type to break a promise. She scratched the back of her head, adding, "Maybe some other time, yeah?"

13th, around lunch time tavar_of_alera November 14 2011, 00:51:48 UTC
Tavi actually got here a couple days ago; but now he was taking to wandering around a little. He procured a book with an absolutely bizarre page in front--how the crows it works was beyond him, but he did not want to risk anyone knowing what that coin now kept in that... thing he got which apparently connected into what was called the 'Network.'

Constantly carrying it around in a small bag slung over his shoulder, he was now heading out and about to explore Sector 4 properly; he hadn't yesterday because of the necessity of the mall.

He was especially looking around somewhat confusedly at some of the shops and eateries. He wanted food, and most of it looked a little bizarre--seeing as he looked like a Roman, this might make sense.

ack! all the edits, sorry. remembered November 14 2011, 15:18:25 UTC
If there was one thing that could catch Amy's eye, then it was a Roman. For a moment, out of the corner of her eye, she thought it was her Roman (he was dressed up like one the last time she saw him) until the heart-wrenching discovery that it was somebody else. Still, she was curious and more than willing to reach out to help this Roman. He looked a bit lost.

Amy stepped up beside him, leaning to the side with her hands in her coat pockets. "New in town, yeah?"

Don't worry 'bout it. :) tavar_of_alera November 14 2011, 16:09:59 UTC
Tavi blinked for a moment before giving her a lopsided grin. Green eyes wry, he shrugged a little. "It's hard to hide, I guess. Especially in a place like..." He waved an arm around at the city. "All this." Though dressed as warmly as he could manage, under the circumstances, both his lack of money and frank wariness of the absolutely bizarre fashion of this place meant he probably looked under-dressed.

(He was shivering--but a little shivering wasn't going to kill him. He'd lived through worse.)

"Mostly I'm trying to figure out what half this food even is. Or, uh, how I'm supposed to get it without... well, money." Different dimension, and his first concerns were utterly practical.

"No worries, all sorts come through." It was meant to ease up the awkwardness he was probably experiencing, but Amy had a feeling it didn't sound like too much of a compliment. She just wasn't fazed by anything nowadays.

Then she turned her attention to the shop window, raising an eyebrow. Guess it would look foreign to someone who presumably travelled two thousand years, if it was from a real Roman legion. "Let me guess. You've got some catching up to do, yeah? Well, I can spare a free lunch if you're hungry?"

Amy offered up a smile. Besides the fact that she was curious to hear more about where he came from, she was feeling generous.

HERE TO CLAIM CR, as promised. goesberserk November 14 2011, 01:31:50 UTC
It didn't happen often, but every now and then Shizuo allowed himself to linger at work for too long. His boss always tried to dissuade him from it, but if he was working on a particular project and didn't want to leave it unfinished, he would take the risk.

Most people couldn't fathom doing something that reckless, but Shizuo had never allowed himself to worry that much. It was true that some of the creatures here were beyond his understanding -- and more than that, it seemed like the ones that targeted him were designed to be difficult to defeat. Still, after almost nine months spent in this place, he'd learned how to handle himself after dark.

Besides, taking the night train meant that it wasn't nearly as dangerous as it could have been. As Shizuo stepped off the train at his stop, all he had to worry about was the short walk home. He had been expecting the streets to be completely abandoned, but surprisingly enough he ended up spotting one redheaded girl walking somewhere on her own. That stood out ( ... )

As somebody who considered a 'keep out' sign as an invitation for doing exactly the opposite, Amy often traveled around at night. It wasn't an everyday thing, but she wasn't scared when it happened. It was more interesting than walking up six flights of stairs to a boring apartment -- well, never boring when the Doctor was there. But he had a habit of being out after dark, too.

There was also the motivation to find certain monsters... something she didn't tell most people. Amy still dreamed, and sometimes they weren't very nice dreams. So, after that incident of bringing a creature into her room, which thankfully hasn't happened since, she often wondered if there were others around. It wasn't a power she could control just yet.

Already alert, she turned around quickly and looked back at Shizuo. She didn't recognize him, so she furrowed her brows in confusion and slowed her walk to a complete stop. "Yeah? Am I ... what?"

All things considered, the girl's reaction was completely understandable. Shizuo had just walked up and stopped her for seemingly no reason, though he also felt like it was pretty obvious why someone would be asking after someone else after dark.

Now that she had turned to him, though, he got a chance to look over her face. She was a bit older than he'd expected when he'd seen her from behind, but that might be due to the fact that he seemed to gravitate towards teenage girls here. Yako wasn't, but she still had a youth about her that stood out.

But he needed to speak now, to say something, and so he searched for the words. Maybe he'd stepped out of line, but he couldn't just run off now. "Are you heading home?" He glanced around, unnerved by how quiet it was. There was usually the sounds of something clawed and fanged wandering around in the distance, at least.

As someone who is convinced she can always handle herself, Amy honestly isn't sure what he's about to ask her. She thought maybe he had mistaken her for somebody else, but when he finished his question, she understood what caught his attention. Girl out by herself, not exactly dressed to take on a pack of monsters. She didn't blame him; it was a nice gesture.

"Maybe," Amy answered. She might be far from her teenage years, but a playful smirk tugged at the corner of her lips. "Are you offering to walk me there?" It wouldn't be the first time. Although, a certain small costumed-girl had a habit of insisting instead.
