Relaxing, she slipped her phone into her back pocket and flashed a slightly embarrassed smile. "Oh, hey. Yeah, been a while. How've you been?"

That being said, he was not looking forward to a harsh Canadian winter. It would make for poor everything, including hunting.
He folded his arms behind his back, at ease.
"Were you on your way home? Perhaps you would like to come by and have some dinner with me?"
In reality, Marluxia was not a very good cook. Two years since he had left the Organization and had to worry about those sort of things, and he had only mastered cooking rice and ramen noodles. Everything else was just sort of... there. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't something one was normally eager to share. He did have some wine, at least. That tended to make the food taste better.

Then she lifted her eyebrows and widened her eyes, a little thrown by the question. She wasn't aware he was ... interested. Unless it was all in a strictly friendly manner -- she was engaged after all (not that it stopped anyone from asking). Maybe no one realized. She didn't have her ring with her when she arrived.
"Ehm, sort of. I have a shift at the baseball diamond." And Amy wasn't the type to break a promise. She scratched the back of her head, adding, "Maybe some other time, yeah?"

Constantly carrying it around in a small bag slung over his shoulder, he was now heading out and about to explore Sector 4 properly; he hadn't yesterday because of the necessity of the mall.
He was especially looking around somewhat confusedly at some of the shops and eateries. He wanted food, and most of it looked a little bizarre--seeing as he looked like a Roman, this might make sense.

Amy stepped up beside him, leaning to the side with her hands in her coat pockets. "New in town, yeah?"

(He was shivering--but a little shivering wasn't going to kill him. He'd lived through worse.)
"Mostly I'm trying to figure out what half this food even is. Or, uh, how I'm supposed to get it without... well, money." Different dimension, and his first concerns were utterly practical.

Then she turned her attention to the shop window, raising an eyebrow. Guess it would look foreign to someone who presumably travelled two thousand years, if it was from a real Roman legion. "Let me guess. You've got some catching up to do, yeah? Well, I can spare a free lunch if you're hungry?"
Amy offered up a smile. Besides the fact that she was curious to hear more about where he came from, she was feeling generous.

Most people couldn't fathom doing something that reckless, but Shizuo had never allowed himself to worry that much. It was true that some of the creatures here were beyond his understanding -- and more than that, it seemed like the ones that targeted him were designed to be difficult to defeat. Still, after almost nine months spent in this place, he'd learned how to handle himself after dark.
Besides, taking the night train meant that it wasn't nearly as dangerous as it could have been. As Shizuo stepped off the train at his stop, all he had to worry about was the short walk home. He had been expecting the streets to be completely abandoned, but surprisingly enough he ended up spotting one redheaded girl walking somewhere on her own. That stood out ( ... )

There was also the motivation to find certain monsters... something she didn't tell most people. Amy still dreamed, and sometimes they weren't very nice dreams. So, after that incident of bringing a creature into her room, which thankfully hasn't happened since, she often wondered if there were others around. It wasn't a power she could control just yet.
Already alert, she turned around quickly and looked back at Shizuo. She didn't recognize him, so she furrowed her brows in confusion and slowed her walk to a complete stop. "Yeah? Am I ... what?"

Now that she had turned to him, though, he got a chance to look over her face. She was a bit older than he'd expected when he'd seen her from behind, but that might be due to the fact that he seemed to gravitate towards teenage girls here. Yako wasn't, but she still had a youth about her that stood out.
But he needed to speak now, to say something, and so he searched for the words. Maybe he'd stepped out of line, but he couldn't just run off now. "Are you heading home?" He glanced around, unnerved by how quiet it was. There was usually the sounds of something clawed and fanged wandering around in the distance, at least.

"Maybe," Amy answered. She might be far from her teenage years, but a playful smirk tugged at the corner of her lips. "Are you offering to walk me there?" It wouldn't be the first time. Although, a certain small costumed-girl had a habit of insisting instead.
