Had to flip a coin between Ella and Amalthea / Unicorn T-T; of_frell October 12 2011, 23:40:56 UTC
Running a hand through her hair, Ella let out a small yawn, taking a deep breath of fresh air. She's just gotten off work from Club Zero and had a couple of hours before her shift at Purgatory started. Normally she would take the subway home, but she needed to pick up a few things from the store first - and she might as well walk the rest of the way.

Much to her surprise, she spied a familiar person ahead of her. "Wolf?"

He could smell her coming all the way down the street, of course. As her scent hit him, his mouth began to water and he felt hunger rush through him.

"Ellaaaaa..." he snarled, looking up at her with yellow eyes.

He took a few steps closer, walking a little unusually, tongue hanging out of his mouth as he panted. "Out for a, heh... walk in the moonlight?"

...

Nnnnnot a good way the way he says her name. And the yellow eyes weren't a good sign. Hadn't he looked like that before? Not ... completely but -

Moonlight. She glanced up as Wolf approached, and inwardly winced. Crap - what was he doing out here? He was going to get himself in trouble. Or get someone in trouble. Like her.

Stay calm, She told herself, and felt the nervousness ebb away. She breathed out. "I'm just getting off of work actually. What are you doing out here, Wolf?"

Wolf licked his lips, then reached up to wipe away an excess of drool. He kept his arm pressed to his mouth for a moment, inhaling the scent of whatever those red stains were on his sleeves.

"Rrrr... oh, you know... just... here and there..." he muttered, an unsettling grin on his face. "Seeing the sights..."

As though for the first time noticing the stains on his sleeves, he chuckled and quickly put his arms behind his back. "Hehhhrrr... Don't you look nice tonight?"

Alice wasn't usually out so close to sirens but she was just leaving Funtom and wanted to take the longer route home. As the sky began to darken, she found herself increasingly distracted by the shops she was walking by. Everyone was setting up for this holiday, showing off decorations and gifts and costumes. She wondered if she should get one as well.

And what would you be, pray tell? A witch?

She smiled, turning and nearly walking into someone.

"Oh, I do beg your pardon--"

The man looked disheveled and sweaty, unkempt. She paused. "Sir, are you all right?"

Wolf had paused when she crashed into him, gritting his teeth together and inhaling her scent as though she were some kind of baked good. He growled with approval, then turned to her, yellow eyes glowing in the darkness.

"Ohhhh, better now that you're here," he nearly giggled. "What brings you out tonight? A girl as nice as you might just run into something awful out here..."

She was no stranger to forward people in London or in the Port, acting like this. But this man seemed more beastly, more feral, than any other man she'd seen before. Perhaps it was that drug that had been floating around.

"Yes, well, I am perfectly capable of taking care of myself." She settled her hands on her hips. "You, however, look ill."

"Ill? Huff puff, I feel GLORIOUS!"

He abruptly spun around, throwing his arms in the air. "Will you smell that air? Will you look at that beautiful moon! Oh, it makes me feel ALIVE! I could just stand under it all night long! AROOOOOOO-"

He let out a long, jubilant howl, lowering his head when he was done and pacing back and forth. "I want to run! Yessssss! Run all over a nice green field, all night long! You wanna run with me?"

It wasn't unusual for Caster to wander the streets during the evening. After all, it was during the evening that the city became a little more interesting. However, even then, it lacked in its appeal, and she tried not to sigh as sandaled heels clicked down the road before the nightly sirens.

Yet, upon catching sight of a figure from a short distance away, Caster found her curiosity piqued ever so slightly. It was a little difficult to make out his features clearly, but if she wasn’t mistaken, he looked rather abnormally disheveled. Somehow, the denizens of the island constantly found themselves in enigmatic circumstances far from the mundane, and she had no doubt that this one was any different.

“Excuse me,” she softly called over, with a mildly welcoming smile as if mindful of alarming him. “I couldn’t help but notice that you seem a little worse for the wear. If it is none of my business, then I will not trouble you…but is everything alright?” A slight tilt of her hooded head and a gentle note of concern accompanied her

Wolf stared at her for a moment, the blank and feral look on his face suddenly melting into a disconcerting smile.

"H'lo," he said, grinning through pointed teeth. "Don't you worry. Everything's just swell...

Caster didn't even need to feel for his presence to know that he wasn't human. His pointed teeth alone were tell-tale indicators that worked better than any alarm.

"Is that so?" she remarked, calmly still. "Perhaps you haven't seen yourself in the mirror yet."

It certainly felt dangerous speaking with such a man, but she wasn't afraid to play with fire. Sometimes, the brightest mornings came from the darkest nights.

"Who needs a mirror? I feel GREAT!"

Wolf laughed, throwing his arms back and staring up at the sky. "Will you smell that fresh air? I can see for MILES AND MILES! I feel incredible! Don't you?"

But someone was about to see him. Or smell him, rather. Bigby turned the corner a block ahead, knocking a new pack of cigarettes against his palm to jostle one loose. He swore he went through more here than he did back home. Something about the smells were stronger, made things worse, harder to focus and filter out. It was really cutting into his bank account...

He's about to light up when he smells Wolf, and lifts his head to peer down the street. Something about him smelled off. Different. He lifted a hand, trying to catch the man's attention.

Wolf could smell him coming. Another wolf in the vicinity. He lifted his nose to the air, sniffing frantically, pacing around in little circles. Then he spotted Bigby heading down the block.

He quickly reached up to try to straighten out his hair, panting. "Hrrrr... Gramps! So nice to see you tonight!" he said, in a completely put-on voice of good cheer.

He still bristles at the nickname - there's so much implied in it that he wants nothing to do with, a whole world that he wants nothing to do with, if it means Snow is with Charming - but brushes it aside. "Coming back from dinner?"

He can smell those stains on your clothes, Wolf.

"Nnn... nooooo!" Wolf says. Then pauses. Then giggles slightly. "Okay, okay, you got me, I- I think I had a lovely chicken dinner earlier! Ohhhhh, they were so juicy, so young! Right out of the coop, nice and fat and fed on corn... MMMM! You can't beat FRESH INGREDIENTS!"

He laughs again, then scratches frantically at his head. "Can you feel it? Isn't it great? I woke up this morning all achy and hot but this MOON... it's just so INVIGORATING!"

Sirens were due to go off any minute and Simon still hadn't made it back to the boarding house...one of the downsides of his new living arrangements: not having a public transit station nearby. The doctor was seriously considering just shouldering the expense of learning to drive and getting a private vehicle.

These thoughts clouded Simon's mind as he tried to hurry down the sidewalk, moving at such a clip that he barely managed to stop himself in time to keep from walking right into someone.

"Duìbùqĭ," he said automatically in apology, taking a few steps back from the stranger and holding up his hands... Wolf's appearance gave him further pause as Simon noticed the dirt and the stains. The doctor treated all sorts so he tried not to judge...but he couldn't help the visceral twist of trepidation.

Wolf overreacted to the near-collision, leaping backwards and putting his arms up in the air while a very inhuman-sounding noise erupted from the back of his throat. His eyes widened in surprise and he gritted his teeth angrily, glaring at the man.

"What'd you call me?!"

A nervous twist that was well deserved, apparently, when Wolf responded by growling at him and bearing his teeth like he was going to bite him. Simon was quick to start backing away, the apologetic gesture turning into one of outright surrender.

"I'm sorry, that's all," he tried to explain, though knowing his luck that would be taken entirely the wrong way as well.

He really needed to drop the Chinese.

"What are you sorry about?" Wolf replied, as though he had completely forgotten what had just occurred. "Sorry because I- because I can't help myself?! You feel sorry for me, don't you?! HRRRRR!"

He took a stalking step forward. "Well you don't need to! I feel FINE!"
