Who: Castiel, Sam Winchester When: October 9th Where: Sam's motel room Summary: Castiel and Sam attempt working out issues and trying to act like adults Warnings: Mentions of violence
It wasn't, but Sam was there and the door knob turning was enough to get his attention right away. Never being one to trust that someone at his door wasn't an immediate and potentially terrifying threat, Sam grabbed his gun held it to the door before opening.
Oh. A sigh. It was Castiel.
Sam let his guard down and closed the door to unlatch the chain before reopening it and standing awkwardly aside for Cas to come in if he wanted. He wasn't spending so much time here any more, and it showed to those who would bother to notice, but a guy still needed his space. Especially when your in-the-dark family had arrived and your life was already teetering on the brink of the danger zone. It wasn't very secret, but it was nice to have a place that was just his.
"Hey.."
He couldn't help but feel instantly guilty. Their last conversation had helped a little, but there wasn't any amount of sorry that would make it right.
"Hello Sam." Castiel stepped into the room, feeling oddly unbothered. Shouldn't he be a little more nervous, or angry, or unsettled? He didn't understand how emotions worked sometimes, not that it was a bad thing in this instance; it made it much easier.
Drifting farther into the room, he glanced back toward Sam again. "I'm surprised you're still here." After all, Dean and Mary were in the city now. He'd tried the motel because it had been worth the shot, but he'd sort of expected Sam to be staying with his family.
"Yeah, well.." He faltered and closed the door, knowing exactly what Castiel was getting at.
"Things are a little weird right now."
Between his mother making googley eyes at a Startrek character and grilling him about every little life detail, Gabe being a chatter box, and his brother beating the shit out of himself over something he wouldn't talk about, Sam was needing a little break.
'A little weird.' Even Castiel could understand that; it was that strange of a situation with the three just being here, let alone being from such different points in time. He moved over to the bed that had been his, pulling open the drawer mostly for something to do, though he was a little pleased to see his things were exactly where he'd left them.
Looking over at Sam once again, he did his usual thing of not easing into a subject at all before bringing it up. "What have you told Dean?" About anything, really, but mainly about the most pressing of the issues Dean didn't know about.
