Summary: Castiel and Sam attempt working out issues and trying to act like adults

The excuse was that he had left the few things he owned, which was true. A few changes of clothes, some papers and assorted notes, the gun he'd been given; he'd left them and not really thought about any of the items since he'd done so as they meant very little to him. But the reason was valid, and less awkward than any other he might have for going to see Sam in person for the first time in over a month.
Mostly, if he was honest, he simply missed his friend. He and Dean got along alright, but Dean barely knew him; it was painful, somehow, in some way Castiel couldn't quite understand about emotions just yet. And with what Crowley had said to him, and the problems Sam was facing, it was also for the hunter's sake that Castiel wanted to speak to him, to try to simply get past what had occurred. He'd never been in this situation before, had never had to try to forgive like this; when people turned on him, he eliminated them and moved on. This was all new, but worth it.
Reaching the motel room, unsure if Sam was even there, he simply tried the door. It had been unlocked the first time he'd done this, maybe it would be this time as well.
