He felt it strike him hard, like a hunter's spear driven through his chest, reaching in to his lungs and forcing him, even though he didn't need to, to draw in a shattered, frightened breath. It was as though he'd been walking around with phantom limbs all this time instead of real ones, with a fog over his mind, and now that the sensation was returned to him, now that the clarity was snapped back into place, he realised all at once precisely what had been missing. The absence that he had carried with him all this time was gone, and he was himself again.

Clarity came at a heavy cost. It came with no little fear, because the last time he had seen Godric he had turned away from him, ignored his warnings, his soft spoken demand that Eric show mercy. That he not bury the insane monster that had murdered his family and tried to kill Sookie under a hundred tons of concrete and leave him there until they dug him up in a few centuries or so ( ... )

He waited patiently. People came and went, but the teenage looking vampire stayed in his place. He could feel how close Eric was, but he never called him. Godric would wait. This was something Eric needed to come to terms with.

Godric had plenty to bide his time with. He held to his thoughts for entertainment, stealing himself for the impending reunion. The Maker was not sure how he'd be received. The last time he'd seen him, a few hours ago, Godric commanded him to leave. Eric was always emotional. Still Godric felt his Childe's heartache.

He appeared at some time. Godric couldn't help but lift his chin to look up at the Viking. "I hope I am not keeping you from something." He said softly.

"There is nothing more important to me than you."

He was frozen with emotion, holding dead still like a deer catching the scent of a predator. It was an admission that it wasn't pressing matters that had kept him from Godric, but more primal, complicated things. His fear.

But it wasn't fear that brought him to his knees, head bowed, one hand raising across his chest. It was emotion. The kind that many humans believed that vampires didn't have. It was anguish, relief, love; he was on the verge of tears. Godric was here. Not a ghost, but the living - dead? - image of him in every way. His weight, his existence, the very smell of him. It was not Eric's mind playing tricks on him.

He had died. Chosen to face the true death.

He had burned.

And Eric would give him all his heart - what was left of it - all his time, all his energy, if it meant making sure that his beloved maker did not face it again. He knew it made no difference, it had happened, but the Port - the Core - had made this possible. The Core had brought him...a second ( ... )

He felt the pain in Eric's chest as if it were his own. While he remained stoic, always the one to reserve his emotions, Godric's eyes remained on his. There was nothing to be said for the moment as Eric dropped to one knee. The older vampire put a comforting hand on his shoulder and squeezed lightly.

Switching to the viking's native language, the old Swedish fell naturally from his tongue. "My son, I am here." It was all Godric needed to say. He would not apologize for what he had done. He still longed for the tranquillity that true death had to offer.

But his being there was no mistake.

Godric's hand moved to Eric's chin before wiping the blood tears like a mother soothes an ailing child. There is a soft smile. Godric's eyes convey that it will be okay. He has faith that things will work out.

"Come. You must tell me about this place."

Jessica is on her way out of Fangtasia when she sees a teenage boy that, by all appearance, is around her age. Her human age. But with the senses of knowing what the moonlight smells, of the intricate and complex beatings of a human heart, she knows that this boy is not what he appears to be.

He's just like her.

Like one of her kind.

Vampire.

And she can't describe it, but his seniority, his age, comes off in waves. Down to the very bones that move her unnatural life, she knows this is a very old, very powerful vampire. Jessica wonders if she'll become something like that: old, venerable, and bears the weight of watching centuries passing by as mere hours. Would she become something like this boy, whoever he is?

So she pauses as she leaves the establishment. Tries to come up something poignant or witty or something.

"Hi," she says instead. Good ole Southern manners back-up.

He senses her. He knows. Godric can feel it in his bones. And she is young. Younger than even what he considers young. Fresh, made not long ago. He'd wager she was still yearling. It was something ingrained in him. Just like he could sense human blood.

He's still looking up at the building when she approaches. He was taking in the subtle architecture. Slowly his eyes shifted to her, his chin barely turning. Southern. It brings a slight smile to his face.

She seemed kind enough. Polite enough. "Hello." He replied back, voice accented with not only a far away land, but even age. His tone was soft, his voice soothing. His very manner was calm despite how very powerful he was.

Yeah, she really can't tell where he originally came from. Probably somewhere exotic, like England or Italy or something.

"Are you, um, new?" Jessica checks the network pretty regularly, and she hasn't seen this guy on the network. Or maybe he's shy and doesn't talk on the network that often. Who knows, really?

"I have just arrived." He told her simply, looking back to the building. He was curious about Eric, but he could hear it straight from the source once the younger vampiric decided to come out.

Godric turned back to Jessica and offered a smile, assuming she wanted more from him, but unsure how to react.

Angel's walking -- though for all intensive purposes it could be more aptly described as stalking -- carried him easily through the streets. Even if he was avidly trying to skirt around Fangtasia, partially because of Spike and partially because he kind of abhorred the place only the way a do-gooder-vampire could, he somehow managed to nearly bump up against it.

Maybe because he wasn't trying as hard as he thought. And maybe because it was fairly hard to shake loose from the reek of other vampires, especially after having fed from Spike so recently, and it could provide for a way to keep himself occupied; keeping people protected from things they hardly wanted to be protected from. But he had no interest in going inside, didn't want to risk the possibility of any number of things. He'd felt off for nearly the entire week now, and there was only one person he could blame ( ... )

To say Godric didn't trust easily was an understatement. Well nonhumans. He'd seen a lot in his day, and he'd done even worse. So when Godric felt a vampire in his presence, he was wary. When he was approached, it was far stranger.

Vampires weren't the type to grow. They couldn't physically (Godric would know since he'd been 5'8 for two millennia). But emotionally. It was rare to see one become understanding and even more rare for them to be empathetic. It took a moment or two for him to react.

"I have just arrived." He replied in accent far out of date.

Angel wouldn't have expected the other to trust him right out of the gates; it's not like he trusted much of anyone either, especially in the way of vampires. But being taken out of his element, in an inter-dimensional space nonetheless, was making him question things he might have otherwise passed by.

Not to mention he was just kind of curious, and needed a distraction. That was always an excellent excuse.

Glancing away from the other man and giving the street a furtive look over, Angel was back to looking at him not a moment later. "What do you think of the place so far?

Being approached in general was odd. He ran his district. He only dealt with people when he wanted to. Otherwise Stan and Isobel handled everything. Godric's people skills were lacking at best.

He inclined his head to the side and his eyes shifted in the most subtle way. Hardly detectable by any mortal. "It is." He said straightforward. It was cryptic, but used to the essence of the word "to be".

This place had it's existence as much as Godric did. There were no emotional opinions on the matter. It simply was.

"I have not been here long. Perhaps someone such as yourself could tell me what is to be expected so I could judge it for myself." His eyes moved back to Angel. "I am called Godric."

Spike's having a smoke break when he moves out of the way for this guy. But then he's taking notice, shoving a hand into his pocket as he leans forward a bit.

"You're looking for Eric?"

Another vampire. Godric turned his head toward the blond. "He's aware of my presence." He said calmly before looking back at the building. Though it didn't make sense since Godric hadn't entered the establishment nor had he sent in anyone.

But Eric knew much like he knew the exact location of his Childe. Godric closed his eyes for a brief moment. No. Eric was still fighting it. He was always one to be emotional.

Oh it made plenty of sense to Spike. He knew when he was within radius of Angel. He figured it was...similar. "Well bully for him."

"He'll come out." Godric said, absolute. He stared at the building as if to will Eric to come out. "When he has had time to get his feelings over my arrival out of his system."
