Lucifer actually agrees completely with her. Not that any of his days are particularly nice by anyone's standards but his own. He comes to the park to be around roses, which he has a particular fondness for.

In fact, when he finds Elaine, he has a long-stemmed white rose balanced on the tip of his finger. He keeps it alive with his will, and that doesn't fade even when his attention focuses on her.

"I hear you're a friend of my double."

She's not surprised when she sees him -- Lucifer's presence seems impossible to miss -- but she gives people space unless she knows to be welcomed. Or when she deems she wants to be around for some reason.

She's reaching to brush the petals when he addresses her. "We're family," Elaine says, reclining back on the bench. "Of course I care about him." Enough to miss his presence after he left. Enough to let him go free just as he'd always wanted.

"You know, you can sit here if you want," she adds, motioning the empty space beside her on the bench. Even if he doesn't, she hopes that gesture gives away that he's not unwelcomed.

Lucifer doesn't sit, it's uncomfortable to be still for him. But he comes nearer and examines the flowers around her instead.

"Are you here just sunbathing, or do flowers strike you as important business?" He's not being sarcastic. ...Well, he is, but he's not as acerbic as he would have been to most other gods.

There is nothing magical about the small, rosette bushes that surround her. But they are beautiful -- Yellow and bright with a strong perfume. They smell to peaches just like she does right now. It's to blend in, because it'll be weird if she doesn't emit any scent.

She folds her arms when he asks her that. "I don't know, did you come here exclusively to sneer at me?" Elaine asks with a little frown, although her voice isn't hostile. She can be snarky too. Lucifer's influence was strong on her over the eons. Then she smiles again. "I just like being here like this -- near the roses. You seem like roses too." She glances at the white one he's holding.
