In fact, when he finds Elaine, he has a long-stemmed white rose balanced on the tip of his finger. He keeps it alive with his will, and that doesn't fade even when his attention focuses on her.
"I hear you're a friend of my double."

She's reaching to brush the petals when he addresses her. "We're family," Elaine says, reclining back on the bench. "Of course I care about him." Enough to miss his presence after he left. Enough to let him go free just as he'd always wanted.
"You know, you can sit here if you want," she adds, motioning the empty space beside her on the bench. Even if he doesn't, she hopes that gesture gives away that he's not unwelcomed.

"Are you here just sunbathing, or do flowers strike you as important business?" He's not being sarcastic. ...Well, he is, but he's not as acerbic as he would have been to most other gods.

She folds her arms when he asks her that. "I don't know, did you come here exclusively to sneer at me?" Elaine asks with a little frown, although her voice isn't hostile. She can be snarky too. Lucifer's influence was strong on her over the eons. Then she smiles again. "I just like being here like this -- near the roses. You seem like roses too." She glances at the white one he's holding.
