When Rain had set out for work this morning, he'd brushed past several lower-hanging branches of sakura thanks to his height, and as he comes in for his shift through the back door, a few wayward petals fall gently off his hair onto the floor of the kitchen.

"Good morning, Sakura, Mr. Fai. Whoops, guess I missed a few." He chuckles and combs several more petals out, "Looks like I'm shedding a storm."

He grabs a broom to quickly remedy that.

"It is the school a few blocks away." She giggles a little.

"I'm not too worried." A little break as she thinks for a moment about the situation, "No, I think Fai is a lot more worried about me then I am for myself!"

She giggles some more. It really was funny how he kept asking if she had been certain of going to school. However, his protectiveness is kind of getting to her, and slowly her amusement stopped over that thought. Maybe he had a point.

"You might be right, but don't let him know I said that," Rain stage-whispers to her with a wink.

Then, he continues in a bracing manner, “You know Sakura, I think Fai might be happier seeing you in school and doing well for yourself than having you stay cooped up at home all day. You just have to prove it to him, and I believe you can do it.”

"I know." Her smile changed into a knowledgeable grin, and her eyes softened into it.

"I just don't want to prove it to him." There is no ignoring his protectiveness, and Sakura thinks that there is a deeper reason to it. No matter what he is hiding, his persistence is what showed her that it is important to him for her to keep close.

Rain sees where he got his assumptions wrong and his smile quirks in acknowledgment of her sentiment. Sakura and Fai value each other so much. Of course, she’d be considerate of his feelings, protecting him too in her own way.

“So, then. Do you know what classes you’ll be taking?”

A bit of worry crossed her face. "Classes? They have different classes here in Canada?" This whole place was so confusing. She just assumed they were regular classes in grade 6. Nothing really special!

"I think just the regular kinds!"
