Rather, some trees will mysteriously pop up around the city this week, mostly in Sector 4 but a few scattered elsewhere. They'll appear like cherry trees blooming off-season, with petals that glow softly in the sunlight in a most alluring and romantic way...
These trees can be easily avoided, but if your character feels compelled to investigate them, they'll fall under a genjutsu. That is, an illusory spell. A powerful one, at that.
Anyone who touches one of these trees' petals will feel compelled to act on or vocalize their suppressed urges. Maybe they will eat lots of chocolate cake. Maybe they will punch their boss in the face. Maybe they'll strip naked and run through the streets. The effects could be dangerous or relatively harmless. It's all up to you.
The effects wear off in 48 hours, or sooner if your character is injured or the illusion is dispelled by a psychic or a magic ninja. Powerful psychics are probably immune to the genjutsu, unless you don't want them to be.
