Who: typhlopid & frosty_mind When: Backdated - Sunday 8/28, afternoon Where: The Tower Apartments Summary: Snake bites off a little more than he can chew when he attempts to scan Emma. Warnings: n/a
[Emma hasn't spent so much as a single night in her apartment, but she gave Rea the key, and assumes it's been used. Having failed to find Rea in the Towers, she doesn't bother with an intensive search, just drops off a bag of cleaning supplies and continues on her way.
Her telepathic senses are open, but not scanning for detail, producing the rough equivalent of aura sight as she "sees" the surface of nearby minds.
As she's currently pretending to be a high-precision but not high-power telepath, the outer layers of her shields have been tweaked to support this illusion. The outermost layer is a snowstorm of static that she knows well enough to see through. Below that there's a layer like molasses, intended to slow an intruder but not expected to stop him. Below that is a crystaline dome, and below that the serious defenses begin.]
[Snake notices a sense of something different. He has always been good at that, finding those nitpicky little details that other people overlook. Perhaps it's something to do with his unique perspective. His expression hardly changes, but he listens to who is around, their strides.
He attempts to push past that barrier. It's curiosity more than anything else, and perhaps arrogance in assuming the intrusion would go unnoticed.]
[Snake pauses. Reaching past the white noise is something delicate, touching him back when he least expects it. A generally calm person, he doesn't panic or react with confusion, but still more curiosity, responding by reaching a little further.
It is not shy or tentative so much as it is careful. Precise. Testing.]
