So he couldn't help but feel a wave of sheer anger when one of the rioters closest to the procession somehow got footing in the chaos to reach into his pants and attempt to urinate on the casket ( ... )

"Ms. Mayer." He himself had to strain to be heard as he turned to her. "I'm trying to get out of this crowd; I have to - "
Someone jostled him from behind, and he took a step forward to keep his balance. Unfortunately, he took a step right into her as a result; he grabbed her arms to keep her from falling, and for just a split second he was aware of the incredible intimacy of their position...Then he regained his feet and stepped back.
"Sorry - We need to get out of the crowd. We can help better from a safe place. Are you with me?"

"You're going to have a tough time that way. There's..."
He pushed into her and she grabbed his arms to steady him, keeping him close for the moment. She glanced over his shoulder to the instigator and when she was satisfied that they wouldn't cause anymore trouble, she turned her gaze back to Edgeworth's face. She gave him a brief and almost wry smile, nodding.
"Of course. There's a side street nearby, we'll go that way." She pointed to the street she was talking about. She glanced back for a moment and then took a breath, turning back to him. "You go first. I have your back."

[Griffin is currently arguing with a deli owner. He really likes this place. They have a great selection. He had become a customer, even though the deli had unsavory AGI ties. Everything around here was tied into something, unfortunately.
But now, the deli owner, who Griffin previously got along with, was suddenly refusing to let him have anything.]
The hell are you talking about?
[Someone throwing a brick through the window interrupts the conversation. It would have hit Griffin square on the back of the head if he hadn't ducked out of the way. He runs outside, climbing over the now broken window. It seems that there's some rioting in the Port today.]
... All I wanted was a bloody sandwich.

[Nor did the fact that after she left the little shop and headed for her bus stop was about the point in time that the fights had spilled out into the street she was on. Wonderful.]
[Oddly enough she wasn't worried about herself being hurt but more to the idea that someone would get her curse and get more hurt by running into her then they would have if they hadn't.]
[Speaking of which. Someone grumbling about a sandwich just stepped out of a broken window, almost into her. She jerked back, hands flying up as if to avoid touching the guy.]
Looks like someone else wanted one as well, or was that just a rock? [It was a tease... very tense though. The Asian girl looked a little startled but calm, clearly ready to duck off to avoid the group of people fighting near by.]

He backs up as he nearly bumps into some girl. Griffin watches the chaos around them.]
Dunno why they would. Place isn't that good. [Spite, thy name is Griffin.]
So uh... what the hell is going on?

[Instead she backed to the wall near the broken window, and was watching the world better before saying swiftly] Rioters.
[Only to realize that was pretty obvious, so she explained, swiftly.] The governor's funeral was today. The news said there were protesters that turned into rioters and now it seems it has broken out all over the city!
[How... did someone miss that kind of information?]

She couldn't stop to arrest everyone involved, though she could hear the sirens going off. She'd have to make do with what she had. She moved towards two boys making molotovs and she grabbed them both by the scruff of the necks. She threw them both into the nearest trash bins, closing the lids on them.
With a sigh, she kept going, moving to put the rioters down as quickly and as efficiently as possible.

Seeing another officer, he came over after to check up after sending another group home (hopefully sending them home, at least).]
You okay?

Yeah, I'm fine. Are you?
[His talkie was going crazy. Her earpiece was blaring off orders but she couldn't be bothered with it. She had turned the volume down and had left the line open for other officers to call her directly.]

Might be a little bruised at the end of the day, but not that bad.
[He glanced down at his hip with a wince as another blast of noise came from it. Looking back up, he blinked, seeing a line of text next to her name. Another blink and it was gone.]

Of course, this meant he hadn't been watching his NV and was thus unaware of the riots that had broken out over the city. He'd been pretty much minding his own business when someone bumped into him, and in the state the other person had been in and his current mood, Soul was probably this close to showing off just why he was called a Death Scythe.
God sometime his life sucked so badly.

For this reason, the person that had jostled Soul got a nice burst of chakra to the back. Th man collapsed and Neji hauled him up, glancing over at Tenten's friend. He didn't look particularly charitable either, but he seemed somewhat unaware of himself as well.
"You should be careful. The rioting has stretched across much of Sectors 1, 2, 5, and 4. Naturally, the shared border between AGI and SERO is dangerous. I'd advise heading south to Sector 3."

"Thanks for the info. Seriously, you turn your back for one minute and the city breaks out into a riot." Soul's upper lip curled into a half snarl as he turned his attention to where another fight had broken out, looking at the ninja out the corner of his eye. "Need any help?"

He'd been given the required equipment to help calm a riot, but he was hoping that he wouldn't have to use any of it. He was sending everyone he could to a safe place, but god help them in getting there.]

Go back to your home and your loved ones, please!
[ After sending an brawling woman back to her home, she turns and sees someone she might have spotted on the SPPD headquarters. ]
You think people have turn magically deaf.
[ Says this wryly. ]

I'm surprised none of them have decided to just go home. It's like they want to destroy the city.

I'm sorry, stuff like this makes me crabby. What's your name? I think I've seen you in the SPDD headquarters.
