Sheila just wrapped up a trip to the emergency room. Long story short: this is normal, you should feel a pin-prickle of pain and be absolutely certain of - she was just coming into her powers. They'd spoken to her of it as if she were a child, and she was a veritable stormcloud of frustration.

And, on her way out to discharge, she happened to be walking right by Phibrizzo's door. Recognizing the childlike form, she ducked her head inside.

"Phibrizzo? What ailment hath thee?"

Phibrizzo looked up at Sheila with wide green eyes, confused for a half second. Ailment? Ah. That was right. People usually went to hospitals because they were sick. The frustration coming off her was quite a welcome meal. Particularly when he'd been so close to enjoying negative emotions from people only to have them replaced by relief and even joy ( ... )

Sheila was less sick than vaguely annoyed by what she's been through over the past twenty-four hours.

Being addressed as 'lady' made her smile. "I am not need of healing, unless thy powers can remove mine. I have newly come into them, and consulted a healer to understand what I may do to ease my mind."

Phibrizzo's giving off a vibe of vague tolerance, but no outright lies. She sits down beside him anyway.

"I don't think I could help with that," said Phibrizzo, shaking his head. "What sort of powers did you get?"

The annoyance was better than the nauseating joy he'd endured. It wasn't raw and undilted negativity like Roman's or Yaha's emotions, but it was welcome nonetheless. He was also genuinely curious about what sort of powers Sheila had developed. Something useful?

He sighed. "All the healing I've been doing has been making me feel sick...but then I heal myself, so it's not really a big deal, I suppose."

Although his employees had done their best to remain by his side through this illness, they couldn't be present at every moment. Rin had departed for school and Jack, having run out of food, had left to acquire some more. That left Madara completely alone. And although solitude was something he normally quite enjoyed, he could enjoy it less now. With no eyes of his own, he needed another to act as his guide and his guardian. Without such a person, every sound made him jump, and he felt lost in this endless darkness. Even lying in bed, he felt as though swimming and drifting with no chance of orientation ( ... )

Even with Phibrizzo trying to learn to control his newfound abilities better, his only real success in containing them had been reducing the area of effect. He had cut the thirty feet radius in half over the past few days. Even so, fifteen feet was more than enough. The Siren's Port General Hospital staff would either place a patient near him or have him sit near a patient, and in a short time, that patient was greatly improved ( ... )

Something began to tug him back to coherency almost immediately. Some wave of relief, almost like a medic's chakra but less direct and only a sliver of that power. Not near enough to cure him, if a cure was even possible. But it did chase away his nightmares for a moment and trick his body into believing Madara was still its master. Shuddering, he flexed his fingers and then turned his face toward... whoever it was that had just entered.

Madara did not immediately connect the sudden surge of renewed strength with the boy's presence. He was distracted, rather, by the sound of the boy's voice. Without his eyes, with no image to connect to that voice, Madara couldn't help but picture his little brother there. His sweet little brother, come to visit him before his death.

"Leave us," he snapped to the nurse, although the bite was taken out of it because he could barely manage a wheezing whisper, let alone a growl. Still, his voice became softer when he addressed the child: "Hello, most precious one..."

"How are you feeling?" asked Phibrizzo. Not well was the obvious answer, but without his usual powers it was difficult to tell how close Madara was to death.

He let out a little more of the healing energy he was only partially successfully bottling in, letting it wash over Madara. Some of it rolled off of him in a general radius, but it seemed like as good a time as any to try working on his aim. Until his powers were back to normal, he was as vulnerable to the darkness monsters as anyone else. With his shoddy control, there was a smaller consisstent flow of the energy, and some that came in rhythmic surges.

"My powers changed so I can heal people just by sitting near them now," he said, offering a brief explanation.
