Good afternoon everyone; my name is Raul Creed, and I will be part of the group that is facilitating the conversation between the rest of the Newcomers and the representatives from AGI and SERO.

Some of you may know me from the work I do at Lion's Gate, and some of you may know me from the Newcomer Political Party. I am glad that you all could come to this meeting, and to let your voice be heard. I'm sure that once everyone is on the same page, we won't have any problems in working through this issue.

Thank you.

I'm Dr. Daedalus Yumeno, a general physician at Skye Medical Centre, soon to be working at the Newcomer's day clinic, which should be operational within the next few weeks.

I'm primarily here today in the interests of preserving on-site health care and other issues of welfare for newer arrivals at the Towers.

Good afternoon. Doctor Michael Xavier. I'm afraid I'll be a bit of an echo. Also, Skye Medical emergency physician and working with Doctor Yumeno at the Day Clinic, also chiefly concerned with the welfare of new arrivals.

[He's had a little talk with Raul before this, and so, he has most of his points in order in his head. Being given a chance to speak, Francis steps up to the podium. He's unaware of it, as he has been since his powers were first truly activated, but as this is a cause for which Francis is very passionate about, his powers are operating on full. The intent he's putting behind his words to burrow into the subconscious of whoever is listening throughout his speech is simple - the Newcomers deserve a safe haven amidst all the turf wars between AGI and SERO, they deserve that much at the very least.]

Bonjour, I am Francis Bonnefoy... I currently live at the Tower Apartments, and I have been for two months now. [He'll just neglect to mention he's moving out because of the SERO/AGI debacle.] There are... quite a lot of doubts in the minds of a Newcomer, especially when we first arrived here - how we were going to get a job, if we were ever going to return home, and so forth. But there has always been one sure fact in our minds, and that is ( ... )

Now, the renovations. This is the issue... there are several options we can do here. We could pay for them ourselves... however, SERO and AGI have already been proven more than willing to pay for any renovations, as they have already appraised the entire building. [A dry smile, he's still somewhat proud of driving out the AGI/SERO intruders of his apartment with a frying pan.] There is also the possibility of working with both companies to come to some sort of agreement, and we could discuss this with the companies over the course of a few days or so to come to some agreement; I'm willing to let the Committee organize as such if they are willing to handle the task. If nothing else we can submit more ideas for the renovations to the Committee to be discussed at a later date. [Francis is a little vindictive when he's angry, he'd gladly see both companies thrown out, however... as much as he hates to admit it, Raul is right.] The point is that for upkeep and renovations, all three of our factions will have to work together, however once ( ... )

"Ah- There's just one thing, Mr. Bonnefoy." Oiled the broader of the two businessmen at the table, a ruddy-faced man with an almost comically bulbous nose, the contents of a briefcase spread out in carbon paper before him at the table. Wagging his finger, he adjusted his own small microphone and reached for a pair of reading glasses, leaning forward in the folding chair, which squeaked with the new distribution of his weight.

"Your estimates have discounted property tax, which up to this point has been waived, as the Tower Apartments have been a holding of the city government. However, everything appears to be in order with regards to other costs- running water, electricity, waste removal (Mmh, though that will probably spike in the coming months), gas, heat,- the air conditioning units, which are still installed by apartment, emergency darkness proofing coverage....all the amenities previously funded jointly by AGI and SERO ( ... )

Pest Control gaveherwings April 13 2011, 04:30:53 UTC
[Daedalus has been listening attentively up till now, but when the conditions of the apartments are called on-

Well he's tempted to bring up the elevator first, but someone will surely mention that, so instead he returns to the delicate subject that Lexaeus once appalled him with.]

Now...I haven't been situated in the Towers for some months myself, but...while I was there, I remember there was definitely some concerns about bats nesting in the walls, in the insulation- or they could have been mice, possibly.

I'm not sure what the state of things are now, as far as small rodents, or insect infestations. If anyone could confirm that for us...

[He glanced around hopefully, mostly at Himawari, who had been living in the Towers as he'd been in the city.]

So...is a routine pest control, or at least an evaluative inspection too much to ask?

Mold too. Mold is terrible for those with respiratory problems.

[Minato had been quiet through most of the meeting thus far, listening and gathering information from the others present. Solid cases had been given and while he still held concern over the companies involvement, he had little else to add to what was already being said.

Nevermind that he was no longer a resident in the apartments themselves. But the possibility that more of his people may arrive and need a place to stay was still a concern, so when the floor opened to provide ideas on improvement Minato finally spoke up.While many of us have arrived in the city relatively healthy there has been, on occasion, an arrival that required medical assistance. Injuries, both short and long term. My concern is for the accessibility of the apartments to such individuals, the elevators have not been in working condition since my own arrival and I've learned they have in fact not been in use for some time ( ... )

"The elevators, then, are a definite priority." Afterglow's negotiator groaned, nodding, having heard the frequent complaint of having to take the stairs more than anything else about the Tower Apartments.

Luckily this man, who was bordering on morbidly obese, at least seemed a bit sympathetic to the thought of doing 12 floors on foot.

"The installation of wheelchair ramps at the entranceways? We can take care'a that too. My cousin Vinny owns an affiliated concrete company. I'll have his boys down by next friday to pour a ramp for the front."

[Rochelle found it best to hang in the back with the two guys she designated her camera crew. While she was a producer and not neccesarily always involved in reporting and recording everything, this was a favor for a friend of a friend and she wanted to be there.

While one man was peering through his camera watching everything through the lens and the other was recording the sound, Ro had her back to the wall between them, hand on her chin and listening.

Politics weren't really her thing, and she had been out of the Tower Apartments for a long time. But this was something important to her and apparently everyone else that had ever arrived here against their will (or not). So she listened, intently.]

[ While she's no longer living in the apartments, Yako figures it's best to keep herself informed and up to date on what's happening to Newcomers in the city-- and it doesn't hurt to get a chance to see people in person and get to know their faces, either.

She's still thoroughly embarrassed by her Jokerization episode, but she's hoping no one will hold it against her-- there's still a tinge of green in her hair, despite her best efforts to dye it back over. ]

[He's stopped in mostly to hear what all the big important fuss was about, but...so far a lot of 'fix this, fix that', munny figures being flung around-

Maybe he should have just stayed home and napped, after the morning's stadium game and a night shift at Merlotte's ahead of him.

So Joe's leaning back in one of the folding chairs, feet up on the empty seat in front of him, eyes closed and dozing off.]

[It's been difficult today watching the representatives from AGi and SERO sliming their way through this meeting without mentioning it, but it's off topic.]

I'd like to ask for a topic to be presented during our next meeting, if that's okay. I know it's in advance...but I want to give everyone a head's up so that they're properly prepared.

At the moment people arrive here with no paperwork at all, or rarely a single form of identity which wouldn't be recognised by the Siren's Port authorities. In my opinion we need to organise thorough paperwork for people that integrates with the system...so that they don't fall out of it and end up like Shikamaru Nara and Sam Merlotte. Our... Our right to self-ownership is still in question, and recently it's become more important than ever that something be done about it.

[A pause.I know that a few people wouldn't want to enroll in anything which recorded their names, and that's fair, but there are risks we're all running associated with that that need to be addressed. In reality the companies ( ... )
