For all that his presence was practically invisible to most in Siren's Port, news of Yaha's capture and the circumstances involved hadn't been long in reaching his ears. Black Mask was on the run now, too, and though they did have a favorable rapport, it was the kind of mess he would sooner leave to the other man than help him clean it up.
And then there was Light, his sometime target, now employer -- everything seemed to be coming apart at once. Why else would he call the man he at one point threatened to turn in?
Waiting patiently, keep a weather eye on the lookout for anything suspicious, Slade mostly kept out of sight. He'd grown less fond of day job over the years, preferring to work in uniform, but this was not one of those times. Instead, he wore a disguise, keeping it casual so as not to draw attention. "This is a good look for you, though if you mind my saying a lot less imposing. Do you follow everyone around in the guise of an out of work banker?"

"Let's get out of here. Edgeworth has eyes everywhere."
Even if the paranoia was a little much, it couldn't help to be careful. If Shikamaru and the other ninja were really empowered against him, then he'd need Slade with him right now, at least until they were back among people. The AGI students at the university would protect one of their own back on campus.

As in, the full regalia of guns, blades, staff, armor, and other miscellaneous tools of the trade. This was a low-key job in comparison to other's he'd taken in the city. He was prepared, of course; he just didn't care to have his real face associated with Light's. Not at this juncture.
"After you."

Of course after him--whether it was to keep an eye on him or watch his back didn't really matter, Light confidently led the way regardless, heading down the stairs. they would go in silence for a while, at lest until Light was confident they were alone, or couldn't be heard amongst people.
"Do you see anyone following us?"
