How could she have been so stupid? Just yesterday she was having the time of her life. Last night she wasn't even thinking that she hadn't turned on her NV, or that her roommates were scarce. She and Trauma were rarely home at the same time anymore and she knew Claudio had been avoiding her just as much as she was him. Why was she so careless today? Shopping, going to work, going about her normal life like nothing could go wrong. Just her luck. Things start to look up for just once and then everything goes to hell and back. When she finally turned her communicator back on, she was trying so hard not to believe the messages, the news. When she talked to Claudio, she was shaking so badly she could barely speak. Trauma was dead. Her Trauma. Her best friend. Dead. Murdered ( ... )

To say Gabriel was taking this easily would be like saying Joseph was as okay with his wife getting knocked up by divine entity as the Bible would have you believe- the man invented the goddamn table flip, for Christ's (no pun intended) sake. He had to hear about Rochelle's death and even knowing that no one stayed dead around here, it made him angry. There was a vengeful angel on the prowl that night. Four more murders had been committed, lost to the haze of St. Valentine's massacre, and the reporters were disappointed to find that the Hyatt family were just some random deaths- murdered because they witnessed something seven months ago and not even remotely related to any of the other murders. The man who ratted them out was dead too. Spilled his guts, literally. Gabriel had sworn he wouldn't kill anyone while he was here, as to not give anyone a reason to come after him, but that bastard deserved it ( ... )

So, Jinx knew how to throw a good tantrum. At an early age, she perfected the art of storming out of a room. She also knew how to play the victim to idiots she could use for later schemes. You could take the girl out of the villain academy, but she'd always be a manipulative bitchy diva. It didn't help that her abilities were tied into her emotions. So when she was angry? Things did not tend to stay in one piece. And when she was like this? It was extremely difficult to choke it all down. Something needed to pay for what happened. Something needed to get ripped apart molecule by molecule and feel the same pain it had caused her and those boys.

When she heard something slam behind her, she assumed it was the Darkness. Something coming to eat her. Oh, she just dared something to try right now. She could rip out hearts, too. She could take thing away from people. She could make everyone feel the way she did. Everyone.

...wait. Gabriel? Her second thought was to wonder why she ended up running all the way out here. Her first thought ( ... )

"Shhhh," Gabriel said, still weirdly gentle for him, but underneath that soothing tone was a ice-cold burning. Family wasn't blood for angels. It was spirit, essence, deep, and some of them had cut that out of them to make life easier after Lucifer, and those bastards were the reason Gabriel left. He could never throw that part of him away. He could pretend, lie, ignore it all, but family was what he lived for. He needed those bonds, hard as he made it for anyone to form them. And if it had been Castiel, there wouldn't be a Siren's Port. There'd a crater and an archangel who tore his entire Grace out of his Trickster's shell to level a city in grief.

You didn't fuck with family. Dean had forced him to face this in the Impala- no matter how badly he wanted to run and let idiots be idiots and not associate with them, the truth always came out. They were his idiots and he had to protect them ( ... )
