[A bolt of Thundaga flashes out of the sky, connecting with the Shadow in a wiry twist. The attack leaves only a smoldering mark on the concrete and that, too, begins to dissipate, the spell's energy fading moments after it's cast. Terra lowers his Keyblade from the point he'd had it in and resumes walking, striding out of the darkness to head toward the Nobody. His focus flicks to Axel, whom he watches with an impassive gaze. He doesn't allow his opinion of the other man to shape his expression -- mostly because he's not sure what his opinion of Axel is anymore ( ... )

[Axel raises eyebrows as the Shadow disappears beneath the jagged bolt, nothing left of it but the heart that rises up into the darkness. If he could, he might even feel sorry for the little creature, who after all knows nothing more than the pursuit of a light it can never obtain.]

[He turns his head again as the footsteps draw near; a brief smile crosses his face when he sees it's Terra, and he nods in return. It's tempting to say hello--if only because Terra so clearly wants to avoid talking to him--but he passes on the opportunity. Maybe he, too, for once, has nothing to say.]

[About to move on, though, he pauses when Terra's voice rings out.]

You don't say? [A glance back over his shoulder.] Well, a strong heart's pretty much irresistable to them.

[Terra assumes his battle stance, waiting patiently as a second blob joins the first and both Shadows pull themselves free of the ground to take on their real forms. They're a little like Unversed. Small, dark, and weak. Less twitchy than the monsters he'd known, though.]

I'm glad you're finally admitting you have a heart, but now you need to work on humility.

[He smirks but keeps concentrated on the Shadow nearest to him.]

[Oh, that's a good one. You've surprised him, Terra. He can't help but smirk back, coming a few steps closer; it's clear that he's not feeling any great urgency to jump into battle himself.]

You knew you had a sense of humor? I'm sure I don't have to point out it's not me they're after.

[But they're only Shadows; no doubt Terra can handle them. He wouldn't be much of a Keyblade wielder otherwise.]
