[This is Light knocking at the door. He's been reading up on Thanksgiving, which is why he's made a hot, sweet, lemon and chili dip as a gift, but the flowers he brings are for Jubilee alone.

He just hasn't got around to giving them to her yet, so there he is finding a place to lay his dip, hovering around one of the tables awkwardly.]

[Man, Thanksgiving. It's really nice of Jubilee to do this, because if he didn't have anything to do today he'd probably be moping in his room missing his family. It's a pretty big Kaplan holiday. But hey, Thanksgiving's all about counting your blessings, right? And he's got a lot of them: Teddy, Magneto, a place to stay, really cool people to be around, and now this party. So that's him helping to set out hors d'oeuvres on one of the tables, if 'helping to set out' means a lot of snacking.]

[Tifa always tried to show up early to these kinds of things, she liked to help out as much as she could. So here she is with a steaming bowl of stuffing and a second bowl of potato salad. She'll find a place to settle them and try to help out in the kitchen as much as she can, while occasionally drifting out to the living room to be social.]

[Yoruichi comes empty-handed, figuring no one will want to eat her cooking. She sure as hell doesn't. Any time she can get someone more skilled in the culinary arts to make something for her, she's all for it.

She'd been a little surprised at Kenpachi's gruff invitation, but again: food cooked by somebody who knows how. That, and being sociable is good. She doesn't announce her arrival, but she doesn't make a secret of it, either. For a moment, she stands there, drawing in a deep, contented breath. Oh, yes. This is will be better than anything she can hope to make herself.]

[Jubilee is setting up more chairs. Luckily, they had more. She glances over and blinks. She didn't recognize the woman - and she was pretty sure she would. So, must be either a crasher, or someone else invited her.

[Right, right. One of Kenpachi's housemates. Well, Yoruichi wasn't completely devoid of manners; growing up in a noble household impressed a few things upon her, even if she bucked most tradition in the end. She smiles.]

Yoruichi. I swear I'm not barging in; Kenpachi invited me to come along. We used to work together back in our world.

[Erik doesn't truly remember a holiday where this big a deal was made. Anya's first birthday came close. But this...this was different. He didn't, in truth, feel up to a holiday but Jubilee and William had looked so excited...perhaps that explained why after four hours, he was still cooking.]

This is his way of offering his frienship, since his friendship with Jubilee has extended to home visits and this is his first real opportunity to speak to her friends without ending up bustled off to her room.]

[The heat from the barbeque was considerable, but in the bitter winter chill it was quite pleasant. Light, naturally, was used to central heating and staying warm and comfortable.]

It works just like the real thing. I was very impressed. Did you have some part in making it?
