Oh, whatever pink haired creeper could you mean, Claire?

It was hard to miss the racket the cheerleaders were making, and even harder to miss the huge twirling sign. He didn't really care enough about humanity to understand their logic, but Szayel would have assumed most people would have had an electronic contraption of some kind built instead of letting a little girl fling a sign around like that...

Of course, this clearly was not your typical human...

Szayel's attention had been caught at the punch; with that much blood, there was no way that nose hadn't been broken. Yet when she pulled her hand away, it was perfectly fine. His eyes flicked about her, spotting the wrist, and how she seemed largely unbothered by it.

Oh ho... it seems specimen number zero-zero-one just presented itself. How delightful.

He slinks off, though he stays in sight, fully intending to intercept the girl as soon as she gets a break.

There was a brief, faint sound -- almost like static on an old television set -- before said pink haired man was suddenly looming behind her. Szayel had a seemingly pleasant smile on his face... but really, it looked more like a cat stalking its prey.

"Claire, wasn't it?" he purred. "Such a nasty blow you took back there..."

An odd combination, that pink and white was. Katara wasn't going to make a fuss about it beyond a weirded out glance now and again, because it really was strange to see someone with that coloration. On the other hand, she's also got her arms full of a wriggling mass of puppy that can't be more than a month old.

Both arms wrapped around the pooch, Katara can't help but giggle, turning her head this way and that to avoid overexcited licks or wet nose. "Calm down, settle down already!" She chides. Honestly this dog was more of a handful than the polarbear dogs back home.

Szayel paused at the voice, knowing very well that the girl had been glancing at him every now and then. He pretended not to notice, settling for observing her strange spiritual presence instead. It had taken some time for him to get used to the odd mix about the city, and differentiating the many new types of pressures was taking more time than he would have cared to admit. Still, the amount of humans that had something that was actually worth noticing was staggering.

He shuffled a moment, putting on a show of considering to approach her, before finally doing so, as pleasant of a smile as he could manage on his face.

"Are you in need of assistance, young lady?"

Katara tensed when the pink haired man approached - but all he did was look relatively pleasant. Still there was something... nah, her imagination. "Oh! She's just a bit ... rambunctious. I was going to see if I could find a rope or something to keep her from running off and getting hurt, but she's a handful. It's hard to keep a solid grip on her, you know?"

How long had that dirty little pup been out on her own anyway? Such an excitable thing, Katara knew she wouldn't be able to get her back to the apartment if she kept fussing like that.

"Ah, I see," Szayel replied, reaching out to run two fingers along the puppy's head. The creature's attitude changed quickly, shuddering and curling up in Katara's arms until the scientist withdrew. Well, at least the creature was more intelligent than most humans.

"Clearly she just needs the right touch," he continued, lips twitching up in a smirk.
