[Checking out some sculpture or work of art wasn't really high on Shinji's "things I enjoy" list. It sounded like a hunk of metal that was hovering a little bit- what was the point? It was something someone had made and shoved out for people to stare at. But Mitsuru wanted to go, and letting her venture out unarmed into the Port close to nightfall was really not something he wanted to do. He was sure Akihiko would punch him for it. So he had agreed, following her to the display, hands shoved in his pockets and altogether feeling very out of place.]

...Sure. Ain't like I got anything else going on. [Other than trying to make time to get some things to Daedalus, but that could wait a little bit. At least until it wouldn't draw attention. He rolled a shoulder in a rather noncommittal manner, glancing back to the sculpture.]

[And resisting comments about how it's just a giant metal ball. Seriously.] I might not have taste in art, but the hell is it?

[He was going to have to learn that, yes, she could take care of herself. Even close to nightfall. She wouldn't stay outside that long, after all. But even if she didn't feel out of place, she still wasn't sure what it really was.]

Is it supposed to be interesting because of what it is, or the fact that it's floating?

[For someone who appreciates art, she wasn't sure what she should be appreciating with this.]

I'm not sure. But it's nice out, today. Maybe it's worth it just to be outside instead of whatever this is supposed to be.

[Another shrug. Shinjiro was really not the person to ask about artwork.] The article made some deal 'bout the reflection thing, but I dunno if that counts as art.

[Shinjiro seemed rather unconcerned about it. Apparently the most effort he was putting into this sculpture presentation thing was just showing up. At the comment of the weather, though, he lifted his head, glancing over the sky.]

...Guess so. 'Least it's an excuse to leave the damn apartment. [Not that Shinjiro stayed indoors all the time, of course. That would just get overbearing with both Akihiko and Mitsuru there.] Even if it's just to see a damn hunk of metal.

[She moved closer and peered at the ball.] I don't actually see much of a reflection. I can't even see myself.

[She looked over at Shinji.] Take a look. You can't see much of anything.

It's an excuse for me to get out of the apartment. You rarely stay there anyway. [She couldn't help but look away and laugh softly.] Though I will agree, this was probably a waste of time. I was expecting...something better.
