I know I'm not the only one that something weird has happened to right now, but I need some help from somebody. I know this is weird but does anybody have wings? Or ever had wings? I have a problem.

[Tifa pans the NV over her shoulder to a pair of huge, dark, feathery wings. She's holding a jacket to her front for modesty, since the sprouting of ( Read more... )

Oh thank goodness! How do you LIVE with them? I can't turn or bend down without knocking something over! I don't even know how to fold them or anything. [She gestures, her wings half-beating anxiously.]

Unfortunately, the answer is you need practice. Lots of it.

Oh I was afraid you were going to say that. [She sighs, putting one hand on her face.] Can you help? I'd love to at least be able to fold them up.

Ah. [This here would be a lazy-eyed phoenix covered in flames peering at his video feed.] Never seen that happen before, yoi.

Ah...Phoenix? [Tifa blinks in surprise. She hasn't seen a Phoenix since the last time Yuffie had used a Materia to summon one.]

For now. [If Tifa squints, she might see just the slightest hint of amusement in the bird's eyes. He's used to surprise when people catch sight of this form.] Normally I'm a human that can change to this form at will, yoi. I seem to be stuck this way, though.

[Back to that original topic--] Your clothes didn't shift with you?

No. I didn't really shift, they just sort of...burst out. And everything I was wearing on my top got wrecked.

[She peers at the burning bird curiously, having never heard of someone turning into a Phoenix before.]

You can turn into one at will? Cooool.

Seems like you got lucky, a lot of people are going crazy out there tonight. [She's got a hand on her chin thoughtfully, then lifts a finger towards the screen.]

First off a shirt might be a good idea. [She chuckles with a bit of a smirk.] Something a little lose and not fitting. My room mate has a pair, but they he only brings them out on rare occasions. They can be a bit of a pain at times.

I don't have any shirts built for wings. [She smiles sheepishly, hugging the jacket to her chest.] I think I'm going to have to make some creative modifications.

Try sticking to easier to manage fabrics or attire that can be easily shifted when the need arises. A robe perhaps... but more in the traditional sense, than the modern.

[Midna's of the mindset anyway, that a woman with a nice body would only be enhanced by flowing clothing.]

It could be worse than knocking a few things over.

Agreed, it could be a lot worse really. I'm only just now hearing about some of what other people might be going through. I really appreciate the advice too, I think I might try making a tunic or something with strips in the back to accommodate them.

It wouldn't be the first time I've helped someone deal with something like this. In fact it's not so uncommon, around here.

You'll need to take scissors to a few shirts. Or purchase some that leave your shoulderblades bare.

Are far as maneuvering- I'm sure that's a little difficult at first, but you'll adapt to it in time, once you figure out what's comfortable.

I never thought of that, I suppose some people here might have it all the time right? Thank you for the advice, I'm going to be trying some modifications to suit them for as long as I have them...however long that turns out being.

Mostly I have to make very small turns so far, and I daren't go behind the bar. [She smiles ruefully.] It's...Doctor Yumeno right?

[ooc:aha! Your journal name is so appropriate.]

I've...heard that you can fold them in mostly-flat, like birds do. Still it's bit cumbersome, and your body will have adjust to them. If you need painkillers, that's understandable. The muscles in your back will probably feel a little sore, until you're used to it.

And yes. That's me.

[ooc: Well...yes.]

Someone who has a pair is trying to teach me to fold them properly. They're like arms I guess, you can just cross them but...even when they're folded they're really quite gigantic.

Oh I've got sore. [She laughs.] Like a years worth of growing pains through my neck, shoulders and back.
