I know I'm not the only one that something weird has happened to right now, but I need some help from somebody. I know this is weird but does anybody have wings? Or ever had wings? I have a problem.

[Tifa pans the NV over her shoulder to a pair of huge, dark, feathery wings. She's holding a jacket to her front for modesty, since the sprouting of ( Read more... )

Ah. [This here would be a lazy-eyed phoenix covered in flames peering at his video feed.] Never seen that happen before, yoi.

Ah...Phoenix? [Tifa blinks in surprise. She hasn't seen a Phoenix since the last time Yuffie had used a Materia to summon one.]

For now. [If Tifa squints, she might see just the slightest hint of amusement in the bird's eyes. He's used to surprise when people catch sight of this form.] Normally I'm a human that can change to this form at will, yoi. I seem to be stuck this way, though.

[Back to that original topic--] Your clothes didn't shift with you?

No. I didn't really shift, they just sort of...burst out. And everything I was wearing on my top got wrecked.

[She peers at the burning bird curiously, having never heard of someone turning into a Phoenix before.]

You can turn into one at will? Cooool.

Those in my world with these sorts of abilities don't have those issues. Our clothing simply adapts along with us in one way or another, yoi. [Hence his curiosity.]

Aa, fully or partially. Perhaps I can show you once these side effects wear off.

That sounds like it would be pretty useful, to keep all your stuff when you transform. Would keep you from burning up all your clothes. [She grins with a half-smile, knowing the joke is lame.]

I'd like to see that, I've never really seen a Phoenix up close, especially a blue one like you.

[Marco just looks a little amused at the notion.] That wouldn't be a problem even if they didn't shift along with me. [The bird leans down, nudging his NV a bit further away so that it shows more of his surroundings. He's settled down on a couch. A very flammable-looking couch.] My flames don't burn.

Oh wow. [She's kind of in awe of you there Marco, eyes wide.] That's pretty useful.

You're a beautiful bird, if you don't mind my saying.

[That causes him to let out a quiet hum, entertained by her choice in words.] "Beautiful" isn't something I hear often, though that could be due to the company I keep. [Regardless, he isn't offended by the compliment.]

[Then, with a curious slight tilt of his head:] Will you be testing those out once you get a better feel for them, yoi?

I suppose I could couldn't I? [She looks back over her shoulder in contemplation, tapping a finger against her lips thoughtfully.]

I don't know how I'd even start though. I've never flown like that before.

Ah, it should come easily enough if you take the time to learn how to move them. [Gracefully, he extends out his wings.] It may take some practice, but I assure you that flight can feel rather liberating.

Oh I can only imagine. I've flown in an air ship and it was just close enough for me to want to learn how, now that I have the means. [She's grinning wide, like a giddy child.]
