Eighth Frost -- Video

[He's in front of his house, and if you look out the corner of the feed, you might notice rotten tomatoes splattering against what appears to be nothing and dropping to the ground. The occasional roll of toilet paper bounces off, too. Yeah, he's got kidou shields up around his house now. He doesn't usually, but this is a . . . special occasion.] ( Read more... )

[HEY NEIGHBOR?]

If only we were so lucky. Seems the water might be kind of safe now but hell if I'm drinking it.

[Howdy, sane neighbour!]

That kind of luck would be an abberation around here. [But one hell of a welcome one.]

Not without at least boiling it first. Though I'll continue to abstain from it for the time being as well.

[Want to sit on the roof and snipe the annoying people?]

Depends on who all is affected. The news is more ridiculous than normal so I can only imagine what other businesses and the like are dealing with.

We filled up a few containers the night before with water, luckily. [Ninjas are always prepared. Already a habit and now one she would ensure continued.]

I want a shower. And not one that turns me into a freak.

[He's so very tempted to.]

Very specific thievery, if you're inclined to believe the reports. [Here, another roll of toilet paper bounces off the kidou shield, and he scowls at it.] Or if you've got idiots outside your house throwing their "spoils" at it.

[Byakuya's grading papers in his room.]

Do you wish a break?

[After all, he can do it too.]

Fine. I'm sick of being in proximity to these lunatics.

[A brief nod and Byakuya puts his papers away.

It only takes a second before his reiatsu is behind Hitsugaya and then his shield appears directly behind Hitsugaya's, allowing the other Captain to drop his.

He studies the fools 'attacking'.]

No word on when this will end?

[He drops the shield and fights off a sigh of irritation.] None.

They should be rounded up for being a public nuisance.

I don't disagree, though I have my doubts the city has enough manpower to contain all the chaos.

As do I, which is most likely why very little is being done about it.

Especially considering that the police force is just as likely to be infected as anyone else.

[Kazuma gets to join you in that tired irritation. No one's been throwing anything at where he lives, but several apartments have been ungodly noisy the past few days.]

Doesn't sound like it, no.

[Throwing rotten produce and toilet paper, and Hitsugaya lives near the fairgrounds. It's totally hell.]

Figures.

I see you've managed to avoid being affected.

[The noise probably wouldn't bother him so much if it wasn't for the headache that was going along with it. But he's grateful it's not much more than that.]

Yeah. Soon as I heard what was going on I made sure everyone here didn't drink the water.

[Kazuma also doesn't have to sleep during the day. Hitsugaya does.]

At least neither of us have to deal with insane housemates, then. [More rotten tomatoes splatter against the barrier, and he sighs.] Those on the outside are bad enough.

Judging from the sound effects, I'm guessing your answer is no.

I've had to chase away about five afflicted people from my house within the past few hours. But I've noticed if I'm quiet and leave the lights off, they don't come as often.

But there'd still be the noise to deal with. [The kidou barrier is mostly so he won't have to wash down the exterior of the house every hour or so.]

But it's certainly less risky than having to deal with the afflicted personally. It's not as if they're doing any of this completely on their own accord.

I don't see where I was blaming anyone for their affliction. [And he wasn't. He doesn't understand how people could get the impression otherwise.]
