[Today's video finds Raphael perched on what appears to be a clothesline he's strung through the living room of his apartment. He smiles at the camera and gives it a friendly wave.]

Marriage.

[Without warning, he swings himself upside-down so he's hanging by his feet.]

What do you think about it? Outdated concept? Beautiful tradition? Is it

Why would it be outdated?

The same way other traditions we no longer practice are outdated. There's a lot of symbolism in a wedding ceremony that doesn't match the values modern society holds.

But lots of people still get married.

Nn. Most just go through the motions without knowing what they mean. Therefore, do we need them?

Outdated concept.

Care to elaborate?

It has lost its merit throughout time. The weddings these days are all about the glamor, the prettier dress, and the expenses.

People like reasons to have attention. Especially once you're too old for fancy birthday parties.

I suppose it works for some.

Mmhmm. You seem like the marrying type.

I hardly have time to form a relationship. Much less, to get married.

White picket fences, all the way. I can see it now. Two point five kids. A golden retriever.

It'd look good on your tax forms, Will.

What is Marriage?

A ceremony joining two lovers for all eternity. In theory.

Someone with whom you share both an emotional and a physical bond. Like... Mommies and Daddies. Understand?

Perhaps not important, I don't believe it's something most should feel compelled they had to do. And clearly you can love someone equally as much without the ceremony.

That being said I'm glad I married my wife.

That's wonderful to hear. How was your wedding?

It was a bigger affair than I had wanted, my position in the village apparently meant everyone was to be invited.

But she... she was beautiful. Made me wonder, again, how I had managed to even catch her attention let alone be the man she wanted to marry. [A light laugh.]
