[Today's video finds Raphael perched on what appears to be a clothesline he's strung through the living room of his apartment. He smiles at the camera and gives it a friendly wave.]

Marriage.

[Without warning, he swings himself upside-down so he's hanging by his feet.]

What do you think about it? Outdated concept? Beautiful tradition? Is it

Taking a survey or? [He's a paranoid, suspicious bastard, sorry.]

I guess you could say that.

May I ask why? Or rather, what prompted it?

Ah ah ah, if I said it'd ruin the surprise.

If you're able to dedicate yourself to another person, I believe the tradition should be upheld.

Ah, I see! Dedication takes a lot of work, though.

Yes, and may not be advisable under less than ideal circumstances.

Less than ideal?

Depends on the circumstances, but it's unnecessary unless you're attempting to reap the financial benefits of it.

Interesting. Always about money, isn't it?

It has its uses. Where I'm from, marriages are arranged. It's entirely about social standing and the compatibility of occupations. For instance, a man with a great deal of power in the city would have a stay at home wife to take care of the more domestic affairs while he was busy.

[Like Raul and his wife.]

I think it can be a beautiful thing. But relationships in general can be. Unless your religion dictates it, or there's some belief reason, marriage is just a legal trap that makes it a pain to get out of a relationship.

Why the question?

A trap, huh? The old ball and chain?

I have some investment in the answers.

Something like that. It's kinda a gilded cage thing for me. Yeah, it's pretty and it can be awesome, but sometimes it still looks like a cage. [A shrug.] I don't have any good examples to go on, though.
