I don't know how to catch time, but I'm pretty sure you can collect time in a bowl. Have you ever left a bucket outside when it's raining, and after the storm's done it's full of water?

Just like a bucket collects a storm's worth of rain... If you leave a bowl out for a day, then you'll collect a day's worth of time in it. So at the end of the day, you can visit Jack and give him the time.
