Has any research been done into the possible reasons newcomers tend to return to life after dying and yet he same can't be said for the people who have lived here their whole lives?

Death is a pardonable excuse.

Are you all right now?

I'm back to normal. Waking up after dying is...strange.

Unquestionably.

Have you spoken with a lawyer?

A lawyer might not be worth it, given how easy it'll be to put all the blame on me for what happened.

How would you go about researching that? Seems to me they would need a volunteer.

[Well, this is quite a way to learn that the last onetime Weiss member is here.]

They could question the newcomers who've died and returned to see if they have anything in common.

First you'd have to track them down.

Some area easy to find - their deaths were covered in the newspaper.

I don't see why you have to put any re-search into it. You just have to kill a whole bunch of people and see if they come back!

Most people would consider that unethical research.

[He sighs. Does he really have to explain this?]

Can you ask someone you know better?

We can try to find out, though.

Not to my knowledge. What of those who have simply vanished without a trace? Or have slipped away to return 'years later'?

Those two seem slightly easier to write off as the Pull's influence. Saying that it also controls the resurrection of people who died is harder to believe.

We were not born to this place. Perhaps we are therefore not meant to end here. I can't come up with a scientific answer, or a medically feasible one, if that's what you're looking for.

I didn't expect medicine to have any answer. And not everyone who dies here comes back, so that makes it even harder.

[He knows the second statement all too well, poor guy.]
