All of that. Doesn't work. It's still really, really hot. And I've traveled through a desert, too!

I spent over four years in Iraq. The heat isn't really so difficult to bear.

...I don't know. Apparently Father is dragging me somewhere.

I already have the hat thing covered. [It's a nondescript red baseball hat. He has to wear a hat of all times because kitty ears. He's also wearing a light blue track jacket over a tank and some shorts.]

...Happy birthday. I made you a card.

Yeah... um. I wasn't sure if I should just give it to you or... are you and the grown-ups gonna do anything nice tonight for your birthday? I could give it to you then...

I don't know. Father says I'm going somewhere with him, but I don't know where or how long I'll be there. I didn't have anything planned.

[He didn't actually expect anyone to know when his birthday was.]

I said to contact the doctor to find symptoms. I suppose a library would work just as well.

[A pause.]

No. Why?

Ah, thank you, madam. But yes, that is true. It not only protects you from the weather conditions, it lowers your overall body temperature.

How old are you? - And, um, how does that work? It seems like it should be the other way around.
