He realizes that the settings are completely different from how they usually are, and hoping for, well, anything really, he begins to speak. There is, however, a long moment between picking up the phone and saying anything. Perhaps the quiet sound of ( Read more... )

Sir! I am afraid that you have, in fact, not been kidnapped! Nor are you hallucinating, crazy, dreaming, or dead! You can immediately rule out each and every one of those possibilities, and any additional possibilities that fall under those more general headings, because! You have been brought to Canada! But it was a very lucky transportation indeed, so don't be upset even for a moment!

I am quite serious! But, as I said, it's really very lucky, so you shouldn't be concerned. And there are a great many of us here, who were similarly transported, under similar circumstances, so we're bound to figure out a way to return home soon! Er, as to... Well, we aren't sure about who it is, really. Or even if there is a who--it's more of a "what"!

[You, sir, are by far the strangest telephone operator he has ever met (not that he's met very many). The video call thing is also kinda weirding him out, but he'll roll with it.]

So... I was kidnapped. And I'm- we're trapped. But no one knows who's behind it.

[He puts his NV down by his side for a second with a confused sigh and drags his hand through his hair.]

Well this is just great.

The city is called Siren's Port, and it is purportedly located off the coast of Canada. It was a kidnapping, after a fashion, and many others are in the same situation; unfortunately, to this point, the party responsible is unknown.

Yeah, I'm starting to see that.

So what is this, some kind of [He stalls, falling short of claiming this is some sort of fucked up reality tv show-styled survival test.

Instead, he just shakes his head. This is so messed up, even for him.]

I'm supposed to meet someone here, right? Like a...tour guide or something?

Are there always this many telephone operators?
