012, Hologram

[Isshin pokes about at the NV for a while, then leans back. He's wearing his Shihakushou, with his zanpakutou hanging down at his side. He's not sure how he's managed to get back, much less in his uniform. He slides his hand into his kosode and scratches at his chest, before he looks down at the camera ( Read more... )

[Now this was interesting. A dead man very clearly back from the dead. The concept wasn't foreign, considering his vague understanding of Vita-Chambers, but the fact this man was back up and roaming around...well...death obviously wasn't something permanent. Not for some (Cohen also recalls Ellis' death and how he, too, came back).]

If the murderer murders to stomp us out...well...they're doing a very lousy job.

[because although Isshin had indeed been encased in plaster, Cohen was not the man to do him in.]

I guess so.

Or maybe I was just a bit too hearty to stay dead for long, ha ha.

Hearty? I think not. Something else, though. Recall, if you will, the Pull. Is it that the Siren's song is so enticing that she can call our weeping souls back from beyond the grave? So few have met their end and had the fortune of coming back.

That could be true too. Or maybe some of us just aren't meant to stay dead.

If you don't mind me asking... You remember anything about the guy?

The person who killed me?

They sapped my powers. I couldn't use them.

They said something derogatory against newcomers and the health profession, I think.

That's Doctor Isshin, I presume?

Dead but then better. Is that...wholly feasible, here?

And that is an interesting request to expect fulfilled, from your murderer.

Yes, that's me.

I guess so. I remember dying, but now I don't seem to be dead any more.

I can hope, can't I? I'd rather that the person who murdered me not have my keys or hospital ID. They don't need them.

I was informed by Mister Edgeworth that there were other practicing doctors among the newcomers...if you don't mind my asking, how did you provide proof of your skill set and experience?

That simple? Perhaps you only went under, but the news reports...- Is there some kind of a life force that revives people here? Revives them from the dead?

Yes, but- Well. I'd think it easier to change my key and get a new ID made than court another encounter with the person who killed you.

They asked me to put on a white coat and judged me on my appearance. I looked good enough to pass the test!

I don't understand how it works, stranger-san. I don't think I'm the first person to come back this way, though.

Maybe. But murderer-san could cause quite a ruckus if he had them. I'd rather he gave them back than do something mean with them.

[coming back to-- well. his voice is concerned, calm, maybe curious- priority questions first.]

Are you feeling alright, sir?

[after a bit;] That's good to hear.

You... use a sword?

Zanpakutou. Or Soul Cutter, in English. It isn't quite a sword.

... And I don't use it that often.
