012, Hologram

[Isshin pokes about at the NV for a while, then leans back. He's wearing his Shihakushou, with his zanpakutou hanging down at his side. He's not sure how he's managed to get back, much less in his uniform. He slides his hand into his kosode and scratches at his chest, before he looks down at the camera ( Read more... )

That's Doctor Isshin, I presume?

Dead but then better. Is that...wholly feasible, here?

And that is an interesting request to expect fulfilled, from your murderer.

Yes, that's me.

I guess so. I remember dying, but now I don't seem to be dead any more.

I can hope, can't I? I'd rather that the person who murdered me not have my keys or hospital ID. They don't need them.

I was informed by Mister Edgeworth that there were other practicing doctors among the newcomers...if you don't mind my asking, how did you provide proof of your skill set and experience?

That simple? Perhaps you only went under, but the news reports...- Is there some kind of a life force that revives people here? Revives them from the dead?

Yes, but- Well. I'd think it easier to change my key and get a new ID made than court another encounter with the person who killed you.

They asked me to put on a white coat and judged me on my appearance. I looked good enough to pass the test!

I don't understand how it works, stranger-san. I don't think I'm the first person to come back this way, though.

Maybe. But murderer-san could cause quite a ruckus if he had them. I'd rather he gave them back than do something mean with them.

Now I may look young, but I was asking in all qualified seriousness, Doctor. My interview the other day was...well, I went through nothing short of rigorous interrogation, as expected, but I was wondering how other newcomers have found employment.

Frankly, I thought myself surely dead before arriving here.

Still, that takes a certain amount of nerve.

Yare yare, it was just a joke, stranger-san. Where did you apply? I went through nearly the same thing before I managed to secure the position. And I'm still being closely monitored.

I guess it does.

It's...Dr. Daedalus, ah- a pleasure to be acquainted. At Skye Medical. They've agreed to start me in GP residency at their clinic, during dark hours.

Hmm. Skye Medical? I don't think I've heard of the place. Which company is it associated with?

It's in the fourth sector. I believe it's unaffiliated. A personal investor founded it some time ago, and it's kept policy to the best of their wishes.

Ah. Good luck to you! I work at Siren's Port General. Have you run any difficulties from SERO or AGI while working there?

Siren's Port General- That's the largest hospital in the city, yes? I was thinking of trying down there...but seeing as I lacked proof of the proper credentials on hand-

Besides, Skye's facility seemed very amenable as a... unique learning environment, and it provides clinical care to most newcomers.

You know, I keep hearing about AGI and SERO. But very little beyond the general negative impression. Should I expect trouble from either of them?

Well, I don't really know much about either one of them, to be honest. I haven't run into any problem with them, anyway. But SERO has kidnapped a few newcomers and scientifically tortured them. I think Shiraga Light was one of them? At least the only one still left.

I don't know. I was just interested in knowing, since - well, I was thinking of starting my own practice.

Tortured toward what purpose? Is this what they mean by the 'human experimentation' I've been hearing about? How can I get in contact with this Shiraga Light?

Too many staff to work around smoothly at the hospital?

I don't know. I'm sorry, I really don't know enough about it to give you any good information. I think Shiraga-kun has an NV with him. But... he's in jail right now.

I'm not used to not being my own boss. Back home, I had my own clinic.

In jail?

I was Director of Health and Welfare for my city. But in a new one- to accept a lesser position was somewhat expected, at least until I can prove myself capable.

He's been accused of murdering someone.

I understand that. I know that another doctor I work with used to be the director of the hospital back where we come from. Now he's just a GP. It's a bit of an awkward step down.
