- A nation's landed property is a state's estate.
- A gambler's encouragement is a bettor's abettor.
- A muscle's nurse is a tendon's attendant, perhaps?
- A nobleman's story is a count's account.
- A festival's business is a fair's affair.

I must admit you did stump me a bit after that. A narc's narc, perhaps? I fear that's reaching. I must say if you let your friend off the hook for just up and giving up you're not a very good friend. And I never was very good at math, especially not this late at night.

Oh, I know, the cute redheaded friend of the protagonist is me, right?

Been a while since I've run across anyone else with an addiction to diction. If you also have a reverence for irreverence it could be love.

Pretty good. But no, not a narc's narc.

And that's pretty corny stuff.

[Though she is really pretty amused.]

Well they say corn's part of a balanced diet.

Oh, would #7 be a quitter's acquitter? Maybe I'm getting a second wind.

That's the one.

I thought the worry was that corn was the basis of too much of our diet.

I don't think most of them would accept that. Seems to come as more of a calling for them.

There was recently a vigilante who publicly posted a video to the network of a criminal they'd killed. I don't know if all of -- them need the media to paint them in a negative light.

A napper's napper. A quitter's acquitter. I'm too tired to figure out the rest.

I was thinking something else for the police officer, but that one's not too bad.

Why, he opens his mouth and speaks, of course. There's no sense talking otherwise.

No, I suppose that's for the best, actually.

Whoa, those are...

--I secretly think vigilantes are great. They don't get paid to do it, they get all their own kit... Heck, even if they're doin' it for the fame, at least people are gettin' saved, right? It's great!

[ And then, back to muttering quietly at the wall of riddles; ] ... Sleeping? Why would you arrest somebody asleep...

Not so sure the police will be happy with that attitude.

Heh, I know. That's why it's a secret.

Sometimes they go beyond what you might think of as reasonable force. Or reasonable attitudes.
