So much pain, anger... sadness. [The young boy with pointed ears is on the network again, with an observation of the Darkness. It has been affecting him since his arrival due to his innate telepathic sense, negative fingers of emotion stretching toward his mind that have only grown harder to block out as time passes. He knows he must find something ( Read more... )

Why do you want to know?

[Crowley looks interested, vaguely. It's a kid. Who is interested in what goes bump in the night. But it isn't just that. He possesses intelligence.

-- give him a moment or two to put together that this kid is Spock and he'll have his moment of seriously, but for now, he's just curious.]

[Spock hardly seems interested, distracted as he is by his own thoughts, though he replies after a short moment.]

It is as if they try to communicate pure feeling. I hear it when dark settles, until the light of sun returns. The emotional strength is unlike anything I have experienced.

Nothing else but feelings?

[Ugh, that can't be killed, wtf, Spock. 8(]

[Have a very worried looking Vivi.]

What do you mean Spock? Who's crying?

[Though Vivi is a familiar face, she doesn't draw out Spock's full attention.]

The darkness, [he quietly answers.] The creatures within.

Everyone. No one. How are you faring with it?

[Spock says nothing for a moment. Everyone; no one seems right. It fits the feeling he gets, somehow.]

The strength of the darkness' emotions have proven unexpected. I am not yet successful at blocking it from my mind.

Why are you out after Sirens? [It's sharpened by concern, but mostly confused.]

Being outside after darkness has fallen would prove detrimental to my health. I am in the Tower Apartment assigned to me.

[And here is a man who is emotionally dead inside.]

We may never know. It may not be our place to know.

[This man's response is enough like a riddle to draw a reply that is more focused out of Spock.]

Would you consider it to be a problem which Siren's Port, with all its diverse indwellers, is incapable of answering?

Mmm. You really think the darkness can cry?

[The bitty child on the screen doesn't look too sure about that.]

Please pardon me for interjecting, but probably, and whether or not the darkness can cry, the monsters infected by it most certainly can and several kinds of them do. Given what I feel telepathically when I'm outside Darkness proofing at night, I believe there's a great deal of emotional and sometimes physical pain involved in being a Darkness monster.

This does not in any way make them less deadly.

...Being a monster is really painful. I know.

Yes. Its cries have reached my mind. The darkness strains to be noticed until the first light of dawn.
