It's tough to tell in the dim light, but his skin is immensely pale, even for a vampire's. The brightest light in the cell comes from his eyes, glowing blood red even brighter than usual

Why? What special component makes human blood so special to your body? What happens if you feed on, say, pig blood?

That is the nature of it. It is the same as the way a man dying of thirst will not benefit from drinking wine.

I believe in science. I don't believe that something like human blood can't be replicated, it's just a matter of technology. With the sheer number of abilities here, such a thing can't be impossible.
