It is bleak. Just because it 'happens everywhere' doesn't mean that something shouldn't be done about it. Equally, if it will just 'keep happening no matter what'. Much of the idea of policing is to present the idea that if you do do it, then you'll get caught and punished -- to dissuade people from ruining their own lives with crime.
[Not saying anything, but nearby. He probably looks like an Eskimo. There's a huge quilt swallowing him up; a floating face in a plush blanket. There's no so-ugly-it's-cute puppy doggy snorting and wiggling at his feet. Odango is hiding under blankets in the middle of the bed.]
[Yoite doesn't say anything for a while, either. But then he looks up at the bed, at Miharu, and he frowns somewhat. His arms are wrapped more tightly around himself.]
