[ For the first few seconds of the feed, a middle-aged guy is staring hard into the camera, looking perplexed. Probably a common sight on the network whenever a newcomer appears, but this guy is wearing a green-and-white eyemask along with a smart-casual shirt and tie, like he started to dress up as a comic book hero but got lazy after that. He can ( Read more... )

Why do you sound more like you're job hunting and less like an actual hero?

... never mind, don't answer that right now. Are you okay? Sounded like somethin' spooked ya there.

[ Sounding much more affronted than shocked, a real mood whiplash-- ]

Huhhh? I'll have you know I'm the real-- oh, oh. Yeah! Uh. [ Backing off, mussing his hair. It already looks mussed like he did that to calm himself down and failed. ]

Some hell of a bug just appeared out there, at least I think it was a bug... Gave me a fright like nothin' else. [ Cautious glance out the window. ] ... Those aren't normal around here, right?

Oh, that thing? Yeah, they're normal. Only after dark, though. Uhhh... try not to get stung, man. They have a nasty bite. And you might want to get inside. Like. Soon.

I guess that'd be part of the 'Darkness' that guy was talkin' about. Damn. [ A sigh ] I'm inside, I'm inside! This apartment is... well, not too bad considering it's free rent.

I'm sorry, I don't know if my boss is looking for any heroes, but if you know how to work a coffee machine I suppose I could talk to him.

What does your bunny look like? I'll help you look for him if you want.

[ Strokes his chin. Seriously considering it. ] When you say coffee machine, you mean something a barista's qualified for, with the grinder and the press and drip, right?

...W, wait, no, I mean, I don't do that kinda work! I ain't trained for that. My job-- [ Jabs a thumb at his chest proudly; ] -is protecting the peace, and the lives of the people!

--Errr, he looks like- [ Well, the word 'pretty-boy' is on the tip of his tongue, but he frowns and sighs. ] He's... not an actual bunny rabbit. That's a nickname. Sounds misleading, huh.

Maybe a little bit... Well, what's your friend's real name? Maybe he's someone who's already here.

[...why does this guy remind her just the teensiest, tiniest bit of Sora?]

I'm really sorry but I don't think Roxas is looking for someone to protect the peace and lives of the coffee shop. I don't think I can help you find a new job. Maybe you could try the police force?

Mr Tiger! I'm glad to see you here.

Where are you? In the apartments they give to new people? I'm in room 1206.

Ah, Origami! [ Grins ] I knew I wouldn't be the only one here! They never throw us into these things alone, do they? Haha...

Oh! Right, right, I'm in 1208. So... two doors down, I'm guessing? [ The feed bumps and carries somewhat as he goes to his door and opens it into the hallway, bobbing his head out-- he's outside his own door, showing the room number. ] You been here long?

Ah, um, well, I don't know that any of this was purposeful. I've been here for a week...

A-ah! Hang on! [He ends the video and jumps up, and a moment later is outside Kotetsu's door, knocking.]

It's not? [ He seems to pause to process the idea for a moment after re-entering his room, but the hologram closes before he can probe further. Huh. Just as he's prodding at the PDA to redial, the knock comes at his door, and he jumps up to answer; ]

Ahh, coming, coming. [ He opens the door and steps back to allow some room, a smile already breaking out. ] Hey, good to see ya! To think there's another Hero here...

Hello, Mister Wild Tiger! You're a superhero with a boss? [ quizzical. Also figuring out what that implies. Something to do with comic books about people with super powers, right...? Or maybe it was the kind with tentacles? Humans. Who knows. ]

Hi! Myeah, back in Sternbild my boss is the head of Apollon Media-- do you know that company? He's not the greatest boss, but I s'pose things are better for me with these guys than TopMag. [ Then he seems to remember himself, and flails his hand somewhat ] W- Well, I shouldn't really be sayin' that kind of thing, really...

Oh. [ ahahaha... what. Neuro's not called Hell's most intelligent demon for nothing, so he gets the gist of that, but... wow, that's a lot of names this guy's throwing out and expecting him to know. ]

I don't know about Apollon Media or Sternbild! But I'm from Japan. Forgive me if I am wrong, but I thought that superheroes classically worked alone!

Ohhh-- I guess even if we have Japanese companies in the sponors, that doesn't mean we're popular over there. My bad.

[ Shrugs lightly; he's about to drop the subject when that comment about working alone crops up, and suddenly he's back in Sternbild mindset ] Classically! I used to work alone! But it's this new marketing shindig from when TopMag got bought out, so this guy, Barnaby--

[ It doesn't compare to the facial acrobatics Kotetsu just pulled off, but Claire's got what would otherwise be some impressive head-scratching action going on. That was rather a lot to take in. And the mask is distracting. ] Lemme see if I got this straight, fella. You're sellin' - justice?

[ That sounds like the tagline for an action figure. Not that he's in charge of that part of business-- well, he cracks a grin that's not too exaggerated, the least he can do to retain some air of coolness, shaking his head ] Heard me wrong? I'm a Hero for justice, savin' civilians, arrestin' criminals... You know, Heroes! NEXT! But I can't really do all that stuff without Lloyds or a manager or someone to sort all the bureaucratic stuff out while I'm on-scene. The usual!

[ Enjoy a slightly bemused face representative of the halcyon days before superhero comics were even a thing. At least the idea of heroes with managers is no weirder to him than anything else. ] Buddy I probably understood about half of that, but that half sounded...
