[Video feed starts with Nami in the back kitchens of Brooke’s Restaurant. The clatter of pots, plates and chefs can be heard, and once in a while a white capped chef can be seen darting past behind her. All busy.]

[Nami looks far more stressed out then she has in a while.]

[ John had typed in his reply, complete with a :( to the nice looking lady, until he remembered some people in the distant past have gotten headaches looking at his texts. She could also be the same, and he wouldn't want anyone's head to hurt!

I don't know any Ace... but he has a cool name, and he sounds like a pretty nice guy! The media can be overrated, anyway.

But uh, you said you were looking to hire. Is there some kind of age limit?

[Aw, that's kind of cute though she might not have minded the text stuff too much, it has taken her a little bit to learn to text back. Still, it's not so bad, but she does like voices better]

Ace is a great guy. Brother to my captain and the smarter of the two.

[she paused a moment, curious] I'm sure this port has some form of age restrictions, but I don't really follow them. If kids want a job and can do it I don't see why they cant. How old are we talking about here?

[ A captain?? It sounded intriguing, almost exciting even, to which John was pretty sure there were nice bedtime-esque stories to back it up. But later. It is time for SERIOUS BUSINESS. He will don that hat and pipe, rock this shit. ]

Hehe, I'm 13, even though I could technically be older, but it's a long and difficult story.

I get that. Right now I'm not positive how old I really am anymore. This jumping around in time thing throws one off a lot. Thirteen isn't so bad though. I was working for a living when I was nine.

I'm glad he wasn't hurt at least. I went to meet him for our training and he never showed. I have no idea how long before that he might have been gone though.

[a pause... hmm] Maybe he'll come back again. It happens.

He wasn't hurt and he's alive at home. It's been a while now. Seems like we're losing people...

[A short sigh.] Maybe it's for the best he went home.

The media have a habit of printing utter rubbish. [ daily express. ]

They do it to get a raise out of us, I know. I know better then to let it get to me. They print so many horrible things about people but this one...

[She trailed off with a small growl. This one struck too hard at someone too close to her. Oh, but it took a moment to realize who she was talking to. At least it was a voice she knew and didn't mind hearing at all. After a pause she sounded less irritated.]

Hello again, John the second. You're still here. [This wasn't a bad thing.]

[ John falls back onto sarcasm as he muses over the situation. He doesn't know Nami that well yet, but he can hear the frustration in her voice. ] It's almost like they don't like the new people coming in or something.

And I'm still here, yes. I haven't checked out that bar yet.

[She worked better on sarcasm anyhow. After his comment she actually sounds less frustrated as she speaks, slipping into her own sarcasm] Right? I miss the days when it was all smiles and hugs and easy money. [Okay, well she does miss the easy money. Actually working for a living now instead of pickpocketing was tough...]
