Twenty-one ~ Video

[The video shows Himawari’s hand drawing back from the NV after turning it on, seated at the Tower Apartment Office in the main Lobby. She is not smiling as normal. She hasn’t really been chipper or smiling for weeks now. The necklace cord sits around her neck still, her hand giving it a small tug before she speaks.]Hello and good evening everyone ( Read more... )

Time to fill up the ranks again, huh Himawari?

If only the ranks had been filled at all! I've been here for over a year and a half now and it's so very rare that a Newcomer takes on a role as Greeter. I think that needs to change. More people should be willing to help. You remember how you felt when you got here, right? People keep looking for jobs, well, this is a good one. I think we could do better at it too!

[She's very strong on this point and not at all being timid or light about it, oddly enough.]

Well- I try to answer people's questions over the network when I can, but I don't really have the time to get up to the diamond too much anymore.

Make sure you're telling them about Sector Zero though, okay? And that I spin at Twins, Monday Nights!

You're already doing your part, Joe! You work really hard around here.

I make sure they know about Sector Zero, as well as the other places that Newcomers have build it. [aww, and actual giggle at the last part] And I'll be sure to remind people about your Monday nights too.

Oh, I-I'd like to attend, if that's alright. [although....]

It's alright to begin training to be a greeter even if you've only recently arrived yourself?

That would be lovely. It's perfectly fine to begin training if you are new. I have lots of information that you can go over to help and there is always someone else around who can help answer questions. Once you get the hang of it, it really isn't so bad.

It sounds difficult, but very rewarding. Arriving here is difficult enough... I'd like to help ease that transition if at all possible.

Although... [whelp and the other problem] I really have no experience in fighting. Would I be... more of a hinderance than a help if I wasn't able to defend against dangers?

It can be difficult at times, but we try to keep a few people on shift to help each other out. Easing the transition is exactly why I think we need more Newcomers as greeters though. We've been through it at least once so... who better to help?

I'm not a good fighter either. I have just enough knowledge to defend myself... or get myself hurt. I'm not sure which. Still, you could take day shifts so you don't have to deal with the darkness, or just keep a sharp eye on the network to help answer questions or direct people to safety. If you would like more defense training there are a few newcomers who teach it too!

[she recognizes you!]

Hello, again.

[a blink, then a soft smile. Ah, she recognizes you too. Tori needs to go reply to that log, doesn't she...]

Hello! How are you doing?

[she beams, pleased to be remembered. it's okay, take your time! ♥]

I'm doing well. You seem to be keeping busy.

[She's still not in the best of moods, and she's still sounding a bit 'take action' and 'brash' in conversations, but at least here she's friendlier]

Always busy. There's a lot of work to be done and so few hands to do it. Which is really silly, considering how many people sit about saying they need a job. [Ah yes, bad mood Himawari is also very opinionated at times]

Is there enough space at the workshop for those of us who aren't interested in becoming Greeters but who would like pointers on assisting new arrivals if circumstances put us in the right place at the right time?

I realize now that I should have been clearer. Yes! There should be enough room. I'm not really expecting many people to be interested, but I welcome anyone willing to come and take in some information.

Of course. I hope you can make it then. It's always nice to have more people in the know. It's this Friday, at noon in the Tower Apartments lobby.

[She might actually look a little surprised, for a moment here. To say the least, that was not something she expected to hear. After a pause she tried to give a bit of a smile, hand rubbing at her neck (and the mysterious necklace around it). She really had been in a odd mood lately.]

Yes, well... I hadn't realized my mood needed soothing. I suppose I have been a bit out of sorts lately. Perhaps I should just take a moment tonight and catch one myself.

[To say yes and put him in danger of her own bad luck, or to do as she would normally do and say no thank you, make up some excuse, weasel her way out of this and forget to watch the sunset at all... that was the question. Lately she didn't care who got hurt around her however.. so:]

I suppose, if it's not an inconvenience to you. Though I don't know if seeing the sunset would help at all anyhow. It's a silly notion to sit and watch the sky when there is so much work to do.

[That in itself isn't much like her at all, but she has been concerned about all the blasted work she has found to do lately. She looked slightly at odds with herself.]
