[ When the NV clicks on, it's initially on audio - sometime Amalthea had difficulty with it. ]

"Unicorn! Here Unicorn! Come out pretty Unicorn! I have some carrots for you!"

Who's trying to catch a unicorn? They're wasting their time!

I am in agreement. As for who believes themselves capable of capturing a Unicorn, it is the human there. [ She points to where the girl is in the distance, tugging at her dress and swearing at some branches. ]

There was a man here once as well. He thought himself to be capable of sneaking up on the Unicorn.

Pah! Everybody knows you can't catch a unicorn. It's the first thing any good hunting parents teach their cubs.

Why'd you wanna catch one, anyway? They're so beautiful, and they take care of the forests. Any good forest has at least a few unicorns in it.

It is comforting, that you know of unicorns. Many I have spoken to have said they do not exist, among them. [ Cubs? What a strange way of speaking. ]

I do not wish to capture a Unicorn. The forests here have but one that I have seen, and I wish her to remain free. Those I have encountered appear to think a Unicorn to be a possession, to be kept behind cold metal bars.

Funny how some people can feel so incredibly entitled, isn't it?

[This stranger to the network fell into a brief pause, raising an eyebrow as her lips fell into a slight smile.] I must admit you've piqued my curiosity, though. I've merely only heard stories of unicorns before.

I can find no amusement in her actions, or any other, in their desire to claim possession of such a creature. [ She glances back to the NV curiously herself. Another one who has only heard stories of unicorns. ]

What stories have you heard of such creatures?

I meant it as a manner of speech. I'm inclined to agree with you; it's no laughing matter at all.

It's hard to really elaborate on any specific stories, however. I was never much into fairy tales myself, but they were quite well known for being magnificent, mythical creatures.

From what I've witnessed though, that woman either never grew up or she was given a reason to believe that they actually exist here.

I see. [ You people and your confusing manners of speech. ]

Your stories are true then. Unicorns are magnificent mythical creatures. [ At the latter, she tilts her head slightly. ] There is in fact, a unicorn that exists in this place.

It is sad, more than it is amusing. To capture creatures that belong free is a death sentence. Humans such as they do not seem to care about things such as that, so long as they have their prize.

I have erected wards which repel many of the creatures. I am forced to retreat from those who are capable of getting past those barriers.

She has some mouth on her, doesn't she? And you--are you okay?

Indeed she has. I have heard similar from others, both here and in my home. She will soon tire of trekking about in the forest, and return to her domicile. I am content to wait.

I am well, yes. What of yourself?

Hey! What's a unicorn?

[ That is the saddest question she's ever heard. ]

A unicorn is an immortal creature that stands for all that is good and pure in the world. Some say they resemble horses, with a horn spiraling from their forehead. One who has truly seen a Unicorn would not insult them with such a description, however.

So it's a horse... with a horn.

[ Forgive her, she's a rude one. ]

[ SO RUDE. ]

A unicorn is no horse. [ She sounds so OFFENDED too. ]
