How do you avoid the monsters I've been told about? No one will let me stay out to see them.

I have erected wards which repel many of the creatures. I am forced to retreat from those who are capable of getting past those barriers.

Wards? How did you erect them?

It is an ability that I possess. Magic if you wish to call it that.

Magic? Really? How peculiar. I've never put much stock in magic. Not when science works well enough to explain it all.

There is no science in the place I am from - Magic is prevalent there. I cannot understand the things created by your sciences - it leaves me in discomfort.

And I find magic in the form of its intent confusing. Strange how we see things, isn't it?

[notamare]

I suppose that it is. You must take greater comfort in this place, as it seems the balance tips more towards that which is of science, rather than magic.

[hisoldgirl]

Comfort? I hadn't really considered. It's still difficult, but I do appreciate the level of technology, even though it's far beneath my own.
