Eventually you have to start paying for the room, and it's not the most expensive but if you don't like the room and there were alternatives why would you?

There are plenty of different apartments in the city, if you know how to deal with that. Newcomers help each other out with money and stuff, although I think we're still having problems with the newcomers' fund. I help run a small boarding house.

but farm fresh and awesome as you are
youre still not old enough to rent an apartment

If you need housing there's space in the boarding house, and rent is negotiable especially if you help out with chores and stuff. There's also locals pretty used to dealing with newcomers here, and you're not the first kid to have arrived. To be honest, this is the first place I've had to mess with apartments at all though, so I'm not the best person to talk to you about that.
