You could have asked the greeters about your girlfriend. She have a name?

I didn't- it wouldn't have been very appropriate, would it?

[Ponder, ponder.]

Oh! Her name's Molly.

I think in this case it would have been fine. It's what they are around for, I suppose. Some of them know a lot about who's shown up or not. Some don't. Can't say I've heard of any Molly in the Port though, other then locals.

Oh. I guess- well, no, it'd be unsafe to go back out to ask them, right? The Shadowbots.

[THIS IS AN ALARMED FROWN.]

Hm.

[ The Doctor can't help but feel sorry for this man. After all, he seems so... defenceless. And it was rather sweet about him, to ask about his girlfriend (though it would probably be for the best if she wasn't here come to think of it. maybe). ]

I'm going to guess you're not the sort who gets themselves into... [ for lack of a better term ] scary situations.

No- I mean- I don't think so.

[He frowns.]

I do... I do walk home sometimes after dark.

It's not always the dark you have to be afraid of. Most of the time. Unless you find yourself running into a nasty swarm of-

[ It looks like he's got the girlfriend bit covered from other people, but she's still curious. ]

You think it's nice that you were brought here?

Well... no.

[Slight frown.]

But it's always best to start on a good foot, yeah?

Suppose so. [ she shrugs a little. ] It's just, well, most people don't really look at it that way. From what've seen so far, at least.

[ ...or from experience, but she won't talk about her own first reaction. ]

Maybe most people aren't optimists?

[JIM FROM IT IS AN OPTIMIST.]

It's- it's Molly.

But nobody's heard of her yet...

Yeah. I don't remember any Molly here...

Sorry. She might come here someday, though.

Well... if it's anything like what people say, I hope not.

[Sad Jim is sad.]

[Snake was also looking for someone important to him when he arrived, and that was just last night, so he is particularly sympathetic.]

Jim, I am Snake.

Do you think you could describe the girl in somewhat more detail? Age, height, perhaps what her voice is like? A name would also be helpful.

Snake. Good, strong name.

[He sounds totally genuine. Inside, he's giggling.]

Well- she's in her late twenties, um... a soft kind of voice. Kind of short. And her name's Molly.

[A pause. Of all the possible responses to him introducing himself, Snake did not expect that kind of compliment to the code name he more or less picked on the fly in a stressful time. Of course, Jim doesn't know that, but it strikes him as a bit odd.

Perhaps Jim is what they call a brown-noser? Or an idiot. That seems more likely, but as always, Snake proceeds with care. It is but a passing thing, really, and he is more interested in uniting Jim with Molly if he possibly can.]

To the best of my knowledge, I have not met her, but I have not been here long. I will let her know you are looking for her if I meet someone who follows that description.

You're very sweet.
