It is unfortunate, but it is so. The humans of this place do not value animals as they do others of their kind. I cannot say as I do not understand - if they cannot hear, or speak to them as I do, how could I possibly expect one to understand them, or sympathize with their plight?

I do not judge humans for eating meat. There is no shame in being a carnivore - my young charge is one himself. There must ever be a balance between the two. However, claiming creatures already endangered merely for the sport of i is little more than cruelty. It is not just animals who receive this treatment.
