News Highlights

There is a highlights reel on the evening news, interviewing victims of Wednesday's riots, focusing on smaller-scale human interest stories, and focusing on injuries caused by violent use of powers.

There's a featured story on a burn victim, a print-ad cosmetics model, who was hit in the face with a molten trash can lid. Luckily, her famous face is insured for up to $300,000 of reconstructive surgery.

Another about a woman who lost the 2nd generation family business, a Sector 4 diner that was burned to the ground.

A Sector 1 adult store which was looted of everything but the condoms, much to the dismay of the uninjured but amused counter help, who quietly tsks about the Port's youth "never cottoning on to safe sex practices."

A wind-elemental, arrested for blowing tear-gas back in the faces of SPPD riot control squads. AGI posted bail for him this morning, and he openly professes his gratitude on-camera.

A spotlight on several healers, and altruistic 'Street Heroes' who helped many. This segment is drawn in sharp contrast to a negative story on SERO Hospital's ambulance teams, their First Response paramedics depicted as 'curbside test-subject pickers'.
An enormous bearded and still-drunken man, who claims his left shoe was the first object to hit Redgrave's casket, and boasts he'd do it all over again, if given the chance.

The special reports end with the heart-wrenching story of a tearful young girl, whose father was found with a gaping hole in his throat. In the brief moments while they were separated in the crowd, her daddy was attacked. Doctors report that his flesh appears to have rotted away, and there were splotches of organic material on his clothing that looked like dust. A young man, thought to be a teenager, was seen fleeing the scene where the man fell. The brown haired man was between 5'7 - 6'1, wearing a pair of mechanic overalls and long sleeves. He is wanted for questioning.
