[After several weeks of not posting on the Network, Francis pops up on the screen, a big smile on his face - as well as a little splotch of red paint on his cheek. His hair is tied up in a little ponytail and he's wearing some old clothes that he's made into painter's clothes. In the background, one might be able to hear the sounds of a popular Read more... )

Though I think you'll find with Pino that companion-model autoreivs can be excellent pixel-for-pixel forgers.

[Yep, he remembers that Game Show broadcast....]

I know, she's shown me. Mais... she wanted to see what my home was like, and I most certainly wanted to show her.

Besides, it's given me a chance to play with one of my hobbies again.

[Surprisingly, Kaiji is smiling and clapping. Even more shocking is that he's not even being remotely sarcastic about it either.]

Ahh, it's weird seeing them all finished compared to last time. Nice work, though.

[It's a brief comment- he's not great at compliments- but he sounds sincere and enthusiastic enough to make up for it. Anyway, he's no art critic; hopefully Francis will understand. He tilts his head a little and then, after a thoughtful pause, adds:] ... you have a daughter? I had no idea- you don't look old enough, man.

[Francis brightens a little at seeing Kaiji pop up. It's been a long while. He grins at the clapping, bowing his head a little.] Is it? I'm so glad you like them! I simply hope Pino will like them as much.

[Looking a bit proud for a moment, he starts talking about his progeny.] Oui, a have a daughter, cher! [Then a chuckle escapes his lips.] I don't look old enough for a lot of things, though I promise I have a daughter. None of my children are here, mais, I suppose that is a good thing, non?

Looks like you found the nurses at the hospital pretty "inspiring" then, huh? [Another flash of a smile.] Speaking of which, you look better than last time I saw you. A little like those paintings.

I wouldn't want any of my family here. It's too- [It seems to be catching because Kaiji gives a little laugh too, interrupting himself.] Wait, children? You have more than one? No way... how many exactly?

Oh, they were. Quite beautiful ladies, if I do say so myself. [He gives a soft laugh.] Mais oui! I'm all healed. I have been for a while, hence why I've been feeling so productive lately. [Then Francis winks.] Can't say I'm better, though. I'm still rotten to the core!

Non, neither would I... I wouldn't want to explain to Matthieu what became of his homeland. [His smile turns a bit teasing, and he responds:] Wouldn't you like to know~...

Oh, you think so? I'm glad! It's been a long time since I've painted something, so I thought I'd be a little rusty.

Merci beaucoup! That is very sweet of you to say, Danny. [His smile is warm and extremely happy.] There are imperfections here and there, mais, it's been so long since I've painted that it's a miracle they even came out looking this good.

Oh, merci beaucoup! I am glad you like them, monsieur. Though the last is certainly still in need of work!

Ah, well, you see, I've only done the background so far. I have yet to touch the mountain here or the sea in front of that, or the beach and palm trees in front of that.

[Here, have a real live pretty sight as opposed to a painted one, Francis.]

That is very lovely work indeed.

If this is what you produce when you are out of practice, I can only assume that your usual standard would be truly exceptional.

And what is your name, ma belle?
