The very moment his power was stripped and replaced with another's, he was aware of what the consequences could be should they fall in the wrong hands. That the Core's choice in this was ironic goes without saying; that there are worse alternatives is also a given.

[Another few precarious seconds are spent standing as still as he possibly can, as though he's been frozen in place or turned to stone, but the Great Lion's voice gives him courage enough to carefully retrieve his NV.
