as previously mentioned, i work for a home improvement company that has two divisions: residential, and commercial. i deal primarily with the residential stuff, so when someone calls the office and asks about commercial, and the appropriate people (Commercial Guy, Commercial Girl, and Bossman) aren't around to be asked, we all freak out a little ( Read more... )

this isn't even about his ability to do his job. he sells and he motivates and he does what he's supposed to do.

BUT HOLY HELL HE CAN'T WORK A PHONE.

I have moments like that at work. . . there are two managers who never seem to have to do manager-type stuff on the registers (such as forcing a coupon to go through if there's a problem, or doing a tax-exempt order), so whenever I need a supervisor key and they're the only ones to give it, I know I'm in for amusement. :-P

You basically have to read the screen and do what it says, but Vanya in particular is not the best at reading comprehension. At one point, she was putting in a date over and over again, unable to figure out why the register wouldn't take it. . . oh, it was because there were only blanks for the month and year, not the day, so her number kept being way too long (and strange). The register beeps at you when you put in more numbers than it has blanks, by the way. ::facepalm::

haha, when i worked at medieval times, our general manager was like that. he had no idea how to work the system and he would try to be helpful because we were apparently "going too slow" - and all he'd do was further slow us down.
