As for the interview, it sounds embarassing, but honestly, getting a little emotional might not be as bad as it seemed. It shows some passion to get a little choked up about it, if nothing else.
At my interview at L-ville, I'd found out about the death of a family friend at 4 a.m. and hit autopilot for the whole thing. I was so numb, I don't even remember more than two minutes of the whole thing, the only thing I do remember was asking if I could take the cup of water they'd given me away with me. Guh. So stupid...
If I've learned nothing else about interviews from mine, and moreso, other peoples, its the fact that they not performances in which you should answer a certain way and act a certain way. Interviews are just a scary, imposing tool intended to determine fit, nothing more. You can perform flawlessly at one and still not be the right person for the job. This one sounds promising though...if you got along with them so well, it may be an issue of GOOD fit!
