Heh, we do have a good variety of CSAs here - but for now, we have a couple friends who work on an organic farm, who can funnel some of the less lovely looking but still delicious produce our way. It is a good arrangement. (They'll be starting their own farm next year up in Wisconsin and I'll have to find another supplier, though ( ... )

Yeah, I really wanted to check out Ballard when we were in Seattle (coworker recommended it), but as you might imagine, it... didn't work out. Next time, I suppose. Overall I like Dublin and Galway better than Seattle but maybe that's comparing apples and oranges.

Yeah. Btw, when I said Edinburgh, I meant the one in Scotland XD
It's a great city because it has the history and culture and community, but somehow it manages to feel very small and cozy, too.

Some cities are deffffinitely nicer than others and I've developed a similar attitude about them. I think Chicago is not a great example of what I prefer in a city's general vibe-- too industrial and soulless, as well as extremely overpriced cost of living. Seattle is expensive, too, though it is gorgeous which brings it far above Chicago for me... I'm envious of Jim and Angie and their little mountain town, though I could never afford to live there and justify it ( ... )

Yeah, I know Chicago (like all cities) has some good things in it. It's just wrapped up in all these memories of bad roads and stressful visits and getting lost. And it is kind of a snobby town, or at least it comes across that way to me.

I don't think I've ever been anywhere near Pittsburgh - I will have to come out there as well to visit some time. It definitely sounds cool. The liquor laws are super weird, but there are some really good breweries in or near PA, so they must not entirely be stifling things. There's a brewery (really small) opening here in CU, too - I'm probably going to start going to the homebrew club, where I hear some of the founders like to visit and talk with people.

Embracing change is itself a change for me - but I'm working on it. I hadn't thought of it in quite those terms, but yeah, avoiding stagnation is a big part of the ultimate goal.
